"Which QB would you take if you had to start a football team, Brees or Rodgers?" CC said "either/or". Is he just dumb or is he still sour about last year with us beating his Vikes?

Start a football team usually means u look at age also.

Rodgers has 6 years on Brees. If he had been asked who do you want this year I'm sure he would have said Brees

ETA take the names out of it. Would you rather 5 more years of a top 2 qb, or 10 more years of a top 5 qb.

I'd still take Brees but it's not crazy to go the other way either.

Brees has 7 elite years left in him.

Possibly and hopefully so but barring injury Rodgers has more playing time in front of him than Brees.

Calm down now. I was fine with it too. Rodgers is talented as they come.

The problem with the "which would you start a team with" question is it always assumes the player is re-signing after 5 or 6 years. I'd take Brees for the next six years, but yeah, I'd definitely 12 years of Rogers over 7 years of Brees.

I'd take Rogers over any player in the league if I was starting a team.

He's ultra talented

He's OBVIOUSLY a team player (handled Favre saga great, didn't throw his HORRENDOUS) Oline under the bus last year.

Is tough and seems like a great guy who wants to be a GREAT football player.

I don't know what Cris Carter has been doing lately but it seems like he is trying to play devils advocate on a lot of issues. I remember he was trying to say that it was perfectly fine for Serena Wiliams to do and say what she did at the U.S. Open while he was on Mike and Mike and it made for a very uncomfartable conversation between him and the Mikes. I have been seeing more of these types of "rogue" comments from him on NFL countdown and when he is on the radio.

Then don't post argumentative statements. Especially when you are just guessing.

Is he sour about it? Yeah, most likely.

doesn't make what he said actually stupid. Aaron Rodgers is a legitimate top 5 QB.

I saw Chis Carter on NFL Live a few weeks ago and he was asked to name the elite QBs in the league. He mentioned Brady, Manning, Rogers, Rivers, and Romo. Never even mentioned Brees. Went on and on about those guys and never even brought Brees up. Guy has a problem with the Saints. Always has, in my opinion.

for some reason this is about the only "media hates us" thing that gets me

In the last few weeks I have heard Romo, Eli, Mcnabb, Rivers, Schaub, Matt Ryan all mentioned in passing while pundits are naming best qbs with Brady and Peyton while ommiting Brees

Its in our nature to wanna hear the media talk about the saints like gods, it really is.

We want them to acknowledge that Brees is the best QB in the NFL, that we have the best receiving corps, that our pass defence is top 5, etc. etc. etc.

But frankly, IMO, the saints are a team that does better without the distraction of living up to the media. They have nothing left to prove, they were THE BEST team in the NFL last year, regardless of what dumb fricks like CC say.

So that would be 8 Lombardis. I can live with that.

I don't know what is Carter's problem, but the only QB you could put over Brees at this point in his career is Manning. Brady is not the same QB he was 3 years ago, & while Rogers, Rivers & Romo are all the best of the rest, but again, the only one at this point in time playing above or on par w/ Brees is Manning.

once again, Rodgers learned a lot watching Favre all those years, if he was thrown to the wolves like Harrington was in Detroit, people wouldn't be singing or praising him now!
