according to nola.com Jeff Duncan. If so, get him outta there. he's a cancer to this team and an overpaid one at that.

if he doesn't respect his employer and show up in shape now, then he won't do it as a DT either.

I don't think it would be smart to let him go, it would cost us quite a chunk of change

He has time to shed the weight. If he doesn't then G Dub will handle it accordingly. I promise.

He's always appeared to be over 300lbs and he hasn't been worth a damn in almost 5 years. Giving him that big, juicy extension has got to be Loomis' biggest mistake to date.

the problem is, he never should have ballooned to 300 pounds. the saints pay him to play DE.

Do u actually think he's effective at that weight. Name one defensive end who is quick off the ball playing at 290lbs?

and he routinely is slow and lethargic. Just because he routinely plays at 290 doesn't mean he should.

Mario Williams is close, but he's got about 4 inches on Grant.

It's bad, and I have little faith, but Grant himself was effective in the 280s before the 07 season. And you don't absolutely have to be super quick to be an effective DE. One can use strength to get around an OT, problem is he just flat out sucks getting pressure now. I think he's having some ankle problems and more of his significant weight is in the form of fat than in the past.

Does Grant have a guranteed contract????

If not.....cut that dude. I think McCray and W.Smith are better than him anyways.

This is pathetic if true and is a flat out shame.

And when it comes down to reality, that overweight, overpaid, underachieving lazy ninja is rich as hell and probably doesn't give a rats arse what the scale reads.

There has to be something in his contract that mentions him being at a certain weight, or even in a certain amount of shape.

I really dont think Grant ever starts another game for the Saints.

I think he comes back after the suspension as a spot-player and after the season he gets cut, which is long overdue

That wouldn't surprise me. Which is why I really think that once Orakpo dropped, we should have looked into moving up a few spots. We didn't have much ammo, but Denver had to have known that Moreno was going to be there at 14, and we could have done it for one of our 4th rounders.
