Still sick about SF game and having a hard time getting excited about any Saints news. Just feel pissed off still. I cant seem to move along yet. I need to get off the ledge..but I cant. I do not understand why fans are so quick to move to next year..when this year ended the way it did only 5 days ago

I feel you, but the hiring of Spags lifted my up. The uncertainly was killing me.

This 110% Trust me Im still upset, but its normally how I cope. By talking about the future and the future looks good. We have Brees and we have Payton. As long as we have them we have a chance

there have been darker days than last Saturday man. Sure it was tough but I think back to the mid to late 90's when getting six wins was considered a good season. I used that era as an example because in my lifetime, those were the hardest days, in my opinion. I'm sure the ole timers could give you better recollections than that, I've seen them post it on here before.

tigerbait i feel you but you gotta remember we are the new generation of the who dat nation. those fans that came before us has very little if anything to look forward to. we have had payton and brees re invent the saints version of a wheel since 2006 and we just got the most dynamic dc in franchise history. i know it sucks. we were 1:37 away from hosting the giants in New Orleans but thats the madness of playoff football and no matter how many points you can score thats where the defense does win the fricking championships. be excited brother. we got a super bowl and a team in its prime in terms of their window of opportunity. stick with us tigerbait. it hurts now but the run aint over yet......

I don't understand what you mean.

It was an epic game!
I mean, sure, there were far too many mistakes, and the defense couldn't cover for them.
But still, we went out swinging.

You can't expect us to win a SB every year.
Give the other 31 teams some credit.

Let's look forward to next year.
The defense is probably gonna be retooled, and we got to see Johnny Unitas' record get smashed by the greatest QB in the league.
It's a good time to be a Saints fan, I tell ya.

If you need help feeling better say these words over nd over again:

Payton. Brees. Payton. Brees.

Then try focusing on the sheer amazingness of the last 3 years. I mean just 7 years ago I would have killed for the saints to make it to the divisional round. In the last 3 years we've won a superbowl, made the playoffs three times, and set numerous records. Sure the seasons over, BUT it was one hell of an amazing season to be a member of who dat nation.

well...no matter how hard you dwell on the game or however badly you wish to have the ability to replay the last 1:37 of the game, it's not going to happen. so the best way to get over the past is to look forward to next season - which just got a whole lot easier with the addition of spags!

Because it was a great season with a lot of thrilling moments. It sucks we lost but the Saints are still well within the "window of opportunity", they just hired a top notch DC, and the Saints will be the first team to play, and win, Super Bowl on its home field next year.

Imagine how excited you would be if brees had the numbers he put up over the last 5 years with a different team and the saints meanwhile were doormats and all of a sudden we found out we're gonna get brees and have the team we're gonna have next year. This truly is the golden era of saints football and nobody deserves it more than this fanbase after the seemingly never-ending putrid seasons. And all the while we stayed faithful. All the while going to the games, watching them on tv and won't change the channel no matter how dire things were. High five to the saints fanbase.

You guys won the superbowl 2 yrs ago. You won 13 games this year, made the playoffs and are all set with a real DC next year.

Yes, its such a tough time to be a Saints fan. Cry me a river.

Umm...perspective maybe?

I'm as much a fan as the next guy, but the game and season are both over. I live and die with every play during the season. When it's over, time to move on. I got a family to feed. No time to dwell on what coulda been.

I know man...it's been an absolutely terrible week. I'm not going to lie more than once this week I've thought that SP and Brees might not get another situation where the team was playing so well combined with the other breaks that ended up happening (would've hosted NFC CG and SB would've been in a dome). We would've been the hands down favorite to take the whole thing. But then again, its SP and Brees and we probably will.

Exactly. Sucks like hell that the season ended like it did, but no matter if the Saints won the SB, I'd still have to work the next day. Life goes on.

You must be a younger fan. Forget about it. Move on to next year. They made a great DC hire. This team will win 12 or 13 ballgames next year and will be poised to retake the Lombardi trophy at home next year.
