We signed the top free agent in the NFL and resigned Graham. We made a decision that PT > Sproles and it's the right decision IMO

0-2 is reality and with the Sproles I saw last night, we are not 0-2. I believe, no matter how good they were, our offense could be better than they are. With this current Defense we need to be better than we have been offensively.

Fact - the Eagles are 1-1 without Sproles effort last night.

What does that have to do with the New Orleans Saints?

And the offense was not better with him last year. PT and Ingram are better. PT is a better all around RB and better at screens. I'd rather have him on the field

Our problems on offense this year are 80% gameplan. With our defense being this bad, we need to reduce the opportunities for opposing offenses. Run the ball, run the ball, run the ball. What's alarming is we can run the ball, and we have proven as much so far this year - but we came out the first two drives and did not run it. Watching our offense this week was like a rewind to 2007, with CSP calling weird plays in odd scenarios.

It autocorrects to "Bree's" on Apple products for some reason. It's happened to me before. What I don't understand is how "Bree's" is more commonly used than "Brees."

No offense, but Brees said that to try and pump up his image knowing that he wouldn't be asked for pay cut/restructure this past offseason. It made no sense to do so and was more damaging than anything had it been done.

I love Brees, but dude is a true politician. He'll succeed in politics with his double talk and the cache of love he's built up in the state.

That said, trading Sproles was a calculated risk, although I still disagreed with it. He's so much better than Cadet as a 4th back that it made no sense to trade him.

In the end though, he may have helped us be 2-0 right now, but this team still would have the defensive issues and Brees brain fart plays to account for.

Sure it did. It freed up money and helped us sign Byrd and resign Bush and Graham.

Now, we should have kept Sproles if we're just going to let Bush play 5 snaps

Except you don't pay someone that much money to be RB#4. I would rather have PT in his role.

PT has 9 receptions this year. 6 of them have gone for 1st downs and he's caused 5 missed tackles.

good point.

...love the guy but ya, Sproles is old and expensive...let's see how he holds up all season.

Saints offense will be top 3 this year...they have work to do to improve...but it's fairly common for teams to struggle a bit more on the road, if you can call 400 yards struggling

I told my buddy I was watching the game with, he has lost a step. The interesting thing about it is, that even after losing a step hes still faster than a lot of DBs, but there were a couple of spots last night where the 2011 version of DS wouldnt have been caught. Not saying its a valid reason, but it was pretty clear.

he was strictly effective as a WR for us at the end there...the value wasn't there anymore...we knew we could do similar stuff with PT, Cooks, and Cadet.

...the money freed up helped us get Byrd and a 4th round pick, and extend Graham...definitely worth it for an aging guy.

...and as stated, we were going to release him, so this Chip Kelly making us look foolish thing needs to stop

first time poster here

we didn't "let" sproles go. we got a 5th round pick and saved 4 million for him. however we were going to just outright release him so at least we got something.

good for him to be doing well in Philly but the last 2 years, we were soooo predictable with him and when he was in the game. our offense would not be any better than 3rd in yards and 2nd in points with him, both games being on the road. we would still be looking at 0-2 with or without him.

i'm a very optimistic guy and will not abandon ship regardless of record. I trust that Payton and Loomis will put who they think are our best guys on the field and I know that they have way more knowledge than anyone on this website about their team.

Blame Jimmy Graham. I lost respect for the redhead when he bitched on twitter that his friends were being cut. They were being cut to pay for your contract.
