Just had a big TD

Looks like 2011 version of Sproles so far this year.

Yep. Payton fricked it up, as usual.

He looks good. Let's see how he looks in 10 games. He slowed down noticeably last year as the season went on

Like I was saying he got some gas left in Dat tank.

Again, how would Sproles help our team this year? Not at all.

Drew Brees was going to do what it takes to keep this team together.

Agreed. I respect that guy a ton though and I'm glad to see him doing well.

Cooks is great and has way more upside however having a running back that can do what Sproles does is irreplaceable. It came down to money but we are worse off without him.

Personally I never thought we used Sproles to his true potential. I know he was good in the passing game, but the kid can absolutely run the damn ball.
I wish we would've given him more true carries.

Old Sproles? Another weapon to open up the offense.

No he doesn't.

We're rushing the ball fine this year, and Cooks has done well in the passing game. Unless Sproles can play RCB, or rush the passer, he wouldn't be making much of a difference for us this year.

"Could have used the first to get a defender instead of Cooks and kept Sproles" is the flipside argument. However, Cooks is the only WR who can get open right now.

this, but the main point we dealt him was to free up money. We just got lucky and someone wanted him, so we were able to get a pick t

Ok ...I say it it...we would be 2-0 with Sproles on this team this year.

It's a pointless, hypothetical argument. 1. Sproles and Cooks play two different positions. 2. Who knows if we even go defense. 3. If we go defense, who knows if that defender will be any good.
