@SportsLawGuy: Meaty filing by the NFLPA to J Berrigan. PA says that NFL has refused settlement talks but offered plyrs new discipinary hearing with RG

@SportsLawGuy: Players rejected new hearing because NFL would not agree to keep confidential or to not use against plyrs in court

@SportsLawGuy: PA offers to provide separate legal counsel for players in settlement talks if court so wishes.

NFL has filed their response as well. All of a page long just cites prior pleadings. Argues the Court has no jurisdiction over labor disputes. Same song they have sung since the beginning.

Sounds like the players side is going out of their way to be cooperative and compliant to what the judge wants and the NFL is continuing to act like a dick.

NEW ORLEANS (AP) - A federal judge says she doubts there are any prospects for a settlement in the case of four NFL players challenging their bounty suspensions.

In an order on Wednesday, U.S. District Judge Ginger Berrigan, who had urged all sides to settle, now asks for more filings pertaining to the players' request for a temporary restraining order that would allow them to return to their teams while their case against the NFL proceeds.

With most teams opening the season Sunday, the judge has set deadlines of Thursday and Friday for various filings and responses in the matter, but did not say when she would rule.

The suspended players are Saints linebacker Jon Vilma, Saints defensive end Will Smith, Cleveland linebacker Scott Fujita and free agent defensive lineman Anthony Hargrove.

Good job NFL. Just tell the judge presiding over the case that she has no jurisdiction. It's like they're trying to lose.
