I just love to rip on Bobby, so here goes.

A few of my favorite Bobby-isms. These come out at least 3 times every segment.

"I mean come on, no"

"Yeah No"

"I mean, Deke, you mean a tell me"

"and then all a sudden"

"Soopabowl"

Used to laugh my arse off everytime he said "Heat Evans"

Also get a chuckle out of how he pronounces "Pierre" as if it has a Y in it.

And is there a product or company he won't endorse? I think he is on at least his fourth car deal since he took the job. How can you be a credible spokesperson when you literally never turn down an offer?

Could we get someone on TD to do our own "Pulse of the Nation"....possibly with Chalmette accents instead of Boston, ya know, to keep it local.

I'd love for somebody to get on the air and ask Deke why he's so antagonistic to the callers. Dude is a flat out dickhead. I can't believe so many people continue to listen/call in after the way he treats his customers.

One thing I hate about mike and mike is they spend 3 hours 57 minutes talking about the Heat, Tebow, or the Jets. And have buster olney on to talk MLB for about 3 minutes and that's all the baseball you get.

AM 690... Sports Hangover(I don't have a problem with and doesn't take commercials ever 5 mins as someone keeps saying) is a good sports talk program on from 11-2pm. If Eric Asher is talking sports he is very insightful and his show is after Sports Hangover.

WWL is straight garbage packaged for people who drink entirely too much tap water.

Could sports talk be better in NOLA/SELA?? No question. But this is what we have and it beats having to hear Colin Cowheard over and over again.

Deke tries to pander to his audience too. Every white athlete/coach is the devil and black guys can do no wrong.

He was screaming at people and hanging up on them after the Oregon game if they didnt agree with him that we needed JJ back to win the national title because he predicted JJ would win a national title on signing day 4 years ago. All year he took calls from JJphiles about how prophetic he was with that great prediction.

How about when he breaks down games... Bobby always says "Its gonna come down to turnovers and whoever scores the most points"

Could we not all make that grand radio analysis??

You ever notice how when he talks to black people he exaggerates his accent and speaks in more slang. I really hate the guy.

Another example, a caller was talking about what fans could do to speed up the brees signing process. The dude was joking that he would fly in from seattle and post up on brees' lawn if he thought it would help speed up the process. Deke went off on his arse, saying to quit being so childish, etc. Deke, it's called hyperbole you fricking cock sucking twink.

I spent a good bit of time with Deke the last couple of years and he is as big a tool in person as he is on the air. He is the only old dude I have met who wears a FULL LA Lakers jersey with Laker shorts and basketball shoes as part of his daily dress. VERY COCKY. Dude thinks he is Dan Patrick.

Your Sports Hangover is way too national for my taste. Again, I love the local flavor of WWL. The ism's of Deke and Bobby ain't that bad. I get to hear talk and relevant interviews with the local flavor that I can't hear anywhere else on the internet. Again, I invite you to provide me links with better local programming to listen to.
There are ism's in this forum that far exceed what I hear on WWL!

Bobby and Deke are rubes, but they're sort of lovable rubes. And, surprisingly, they're actually well liked by sportscasters from other regions.

For all of their faults, I would rather have them than some milquetoast clones that could be from any major market.

I like the Gerry V Show from 4-7 on 106.1. He talks about everything, not just football.

The music that plays in the lead ins and breaks are always rap instrumentals. It's not bad but I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed Deke got a ill brother man swag with him. I loved his story recently about his favorite pair of Jordan's. I don't know any white dudes rocking Jays.

Mike Detelier(sp?) IMHO is the best example of the Hebert and Deke archetype. He is so knowledgable of the ins and outs of all elements of football but still is "himself" as that Cajun sports guy. He's professional and is not hammered or hungover or slightly drunk like Bobby and he's never mean to callers like Deke .

Deke Bellavia is a douchebag and a half. I like Bobby. He's goofy and definitely not the sharpest but he's very likable and entertaining. Deke is just an arrogant dumb prick. I can't believe he is still playing the prominent role he is on WWL, especially with how widespread the anti-Deke sentiment seems to be. I would love to hear someone call in and put his dumbass in his place, though of course they would be cut off the air.

Gimme the link, dude. The time or two I've listened in the past they were talking about the Celtics, Tiger Woods, or some other non-Loozeeana chatter.
