Someone's upset the teams not a "dumpster fire".

We were Superbowl favorites on paper last year.

I think as long as Drew Brees is the QB on paper we are a playoff team.

I'm worried about us this year.

We traded away our top two receivers from last year and didn't replace them. We upgraded the center spot but now have a hole at OG. And Evans has played bad the past two years. We got Spiller, who I love, but both he and Ingram just signed contracts. What will there effort be? I just don't see us being any better than we were last year on offense. If anything, we downgraded a little.

Who knows what the defense is doing. We go from a good defense two years ago to a terrible defense last year. Byrd should help, but can't if RR has him playing 30 yards off the line of scrimmage like he did last year. CBs are okay and we have secondary depth which I like. We let our leading tackler go. Now it's a bunch of rookies, so who knows what they will do. The defensive line so underachieved last year who knows what they will do this year. I think we upgraded a little on defense, but it's mostly unknown potential upgrades.

Can they beat out the Panthers, Falcons, and Bucs this year?

Well, on paper/internet, Vegas has the Saints, Falcons, and Panthers with the same odds to win the division.

I actually disagree with this. If we see this again, I think it's a good sign. We want Byrd to play the Ed Reed type role - rove around and take the ball when he sees a shot. Coverage is great, but if our corners can handle themselves and Byrd can rove around then we will have a lot more turnovers.

A lot of riding on what they do with KV as well. He excels as a box safety, covering TEs/speedy WRs in the slot or in run support. I have no faith in his ability to play a coverage safety in cover 2.

I would say Varacco/Bryd are worrisome, even before his injury the tandem did not look good. They could both improve but will Bryd be the All-Pro he was for the Bills?
CB I just am not sold on Browner, I know it was a good signing based on what the Saints threw out their last year but I am not sure how much of an impact he will actually have.
wr I just love Colston, he is what he is a dependable receiver for Drew and I think Cooks improves this year. They also have a lot of guys in year 1-4 who I think we will see 1 step up and have a good season.

Lack of time together really hurt them but with a full offseasin and RR using them right I have high hopes.

Browner is needed with the giants in the division. He's rough but it's what we need in the secondary,I just want
competence at the #2 CB and he should deliver(as he has previously)

Lot of depth as well

WR i agree mostly

It didn't work when we were doing at the start of last year. Ed Reed wasn't that far back. Sharper wasn't do that either. Most plays were over before Byrd was ever around them.

The up and down has us all tempering expectations I think.

The biggest unknown/concern for me is at DT.
Last year we got gashed vs the run.
I have confidence the D will be better but how much better?

Vaccaro played scared and not to get rehurt last year. He lost the fire. That's his game. If it doesn't return, he'll remain lack luster.
