Dude not every draft pick wants to go where they're drafted. They all grow up pulling for teams. Not a valid excuse. You waste picks on projects, but won't throw one out for 1st round talent? I've been over it. Just another bad personnel decision by this regime.

And you risk giving up pj Williams, Grayson, tull, Murphy, swann, Davison for him. He could have sat out and you'd lose any of those 6

Wait you wouldn't give up 1 of those guys for a starting NFL guard on a team with an aging Evans and Tim Lelito? Sitting out was never going to happen.

That isn't what he said

Nice edit. And he would have been dumb to not sit out imo

It is very telling that 32 teams passed on such a great telling. It isn't right and it doesn't make sense

Take him over Grayson on day 3 and he signs. I believe he signs even in the 4th.

Haven't seen enough of Grayson to call it wasted pick, but Collins filled an immediate need and locks that position Evans style for years.

I don't think I've seen 1 person argue that the Saints shouldn't have drafted him actually.

Enjoy arguing with yourself about something that every team in the NFL did (suspicious) and isn't going to change

We should have drafted Mathieu too right?

Sometimes the best for a team isn't the best thing for a player. You think Mathieu would have a head on his shoulders here as opposed to Arizona with a close friend babysitting him and being a mentor?

No Mathieu actually did well getting away from the traps here in NO. No problem with us not taking him given his personal demons at the time. Very proud of what he's doing in Arizona. Best defensive football player I've ever seen play college football. What he did in 2 years was amazing. Wish we could have had him 1 more year.

La'el has always been clean as far as I know.

And there you go. The state costed him millions and it was in his best interest, like it has been stated MULTIPLE times by other coaches and himself, to get away from the area.

Not everyone that got in any potential legal trouble, especially one that fricked you over out of millions, want to stay in the same area.

This is my mentality as well. He has the perfect body and plenty enough athleticism for an OT. That being said, if we can get a good price for an OT via FA or a legit OT falls right in our laps in the draft...I wouldn't have a problem with him playing OG. Peat does negate the necessity to reach for an OG/OT. Unlike this past draft when we were basically forced to take Anthony or Kendricks at #31.

Are we really talking about La'el in an Andrus Peat thread?

People still think we didn't reach out to Collins? Payton said himself he did and that Collins basically said he wanted to get out of the state after what happened to him around draft time.
