Who was the running back from Ohio st. That we took in the 4th round several years ago? We cut him and Pierre Thomas fell into our lap.

Antonio Pittman. We traded up to get him.

"If a person bitches about a 7th round draft pick, its unequivocal proof that they have the desire to bitch about literally anything."

At least 85% of the board

Best pick of the 7th round thus far: Saints pick up Cal RB Daniel Lasco. Do-it-all backfield depth who plays with intelligence + intensity.

Workout star Daniel Lasco to #Saints at 237. 92nd-percentile SPARQ athlete. 4.46 40, best broad jump (11'3") ever for RB at Combine.

McShay says "tremendous intangibles" had 3rd round grade.
But injuries/durability issues dropped him to 7th rd.

if this guy slipped to UDFA status we'd all be saying "well we know how to sign UDFA RBs after the draft" while nodding in agreement

Kids a dynamic athlete.

He's a 7th RD pick that will be able to contribute from Day 1, something most 7th rounders will never do. Great fit in our offense too.

I think it was a great vale pick.

I mean I can see him sliding into Spiller's role in a year or two. Cadet is solid but he's proven he won't be a Spiller/Sproles clone.

But this guy looks good. If he can stay healthy, I can see him replacing Spiller in a year and saving us some $$

I wouldn't say he's a great catcher though.

Only 6 out of 42. While 14% isn't great it isn't horrible either (for a back). They've had receivers go in rounds one and two with worse drop rates.

They just showed his highlights (yeah, I know they are highlights) and he looks fast and athletic. If he can stay healthy and play special teams, especially as a return guy, for a few years then contribute as a RB, then it's a good pick.

I haven't "loved" our drafts for the past five or six years. But I kinda love this draft. Rankins was a good pick, Thomas and Bell and Lasco are great value picks and the Canadian guy has good potential at a position of need.

Let me ask you, did you know that a 40 time isn't an all encompassing benchmark for athleticism?

You think "better" means one doesn't move well? Yikes
