I’m curious to see our game vs the Warriors. AD/DC could potentially marginalize KD and Draymond by drawing a lot of fouls. If you take them out of the game then the Splash bros have to go into cheat mode to win.

I feel like this zig zag is the right way to neutralize the Warriors, as we have seen with the Cavs, I just think we are like 1 or 3 pieces away from getting there.

Have to upgrade a few positions and get more reliable shooters in the process.

As long as we get some perimeter defending (Tony Allen and maybe Solo will be back at full strength by playoff time) to slow down Curry & Klay, I like AD/Cousins chances against KD/Green

side note: anyone see the Cavs lose to the Bulls by 14 last night? Cleveland's starting 5 played over 20 mins each. And not going to lie it helped put our play against Chicago into perspective for me. To remember its only preseason, maybe the Bulls aren't that bad, and to just take it for what it is, one preseason game. I was a little pessimistic after our first loss then got more pessimistic hearing about Rondo's injury. We definitely have our flaws, but I think we have great coaches in Finch and Erman that will get the team to where it needs to be. They just need a little time. And even if Rondo is out for our first 16 games (thats 6 weeks) we only play 5 teams that I think will give us trouble (GSW, Cavs, MIN, DEN, TOR x2). I'd take 11-5 by the time he's back.

that's my sunshine pumping for the day. now back to pessimism

Certainly for their respective prices....

Denzel Valentine is exactly what this team needs too. He's murdering it in the preseason. Shooting 48% from 3 on a very high volume.

I guess if you want to be optimistic, it took Justin til he was 28 to figure it out and take that next step(assuming he has based on pre-season). So Jrue has one more year to go.

there is potential for that, certainly (though i doubt you ever see both Durant/Green in serious foul trouble in any game). the matchups are just as problematic on the other end though.

Pels will present unique problems v the Warriors. they're still perhaps the greatest team ever playing in a system designed to maximize their talent, skill, and IQ advantage. even with a fully functioning Davis/Cousins, Pels have some big holes to cover up

lol. "cheat mode" is their average game. that's why they're the Warriors.

What's the word on Frank Jackson?

I'm hoping he contributes at some point this year.

Do you want him to never walk again? He had a stress fracture in his foot, had surgery on it, and because this team is completely incompetent with medical issues, he broke it again and needed a 2nd surgery. He's expected to be out 3-4 months but they really should take it extra slow and cautious. If he plays anywhere this year it will be in the GLeague.

Yea PSA to all Pelicans players: Don't let any doctor contracted by the Pelicans or Saints perform any type of surgery or prescribe any drugs.

At this point, the dream is that we enter the season with a roster full of healthy players
