Any examples?

Honestly, it's just a waiting game. All these guys are trying to find a team with space to pay them first. Then, will see if a contender or a team with a big role to offer will give them the min. We come into consideration after that
Would like Robinson as I think he is the best rebounder of the group and could fill in at the 5 in situations. I don't think Zeller would be a realistic option unless Boston releases his QO. However, there seem to be a lot of possibilities available that we could fill a spot with.

Remember in college, he had like 3 family members die within in a year. He was praised for his resiliency and character. I feel like the guy is still hungry to prove himself (we are lauding guys like Hield for that "hungriness trait I think)

I'm sorry, a guy who played 12.9 minutes per game (and even started 7 of them!) was a top 5-10 defensive rebounder in the league? Let me guess, you're one of the guys who thinks every summer league star is a HOF lock.

How do you like your sample sizes? In 7 starts last year

28.2 mpg
14.6 ppg
12.3 rpg

Robinson would fill a nice role with us

I do apologize to the board as I have no examples of Robinson having "poor attitude". It seems I stand to be corrected. Carry on

I'd pass on Robinson simply because I'm not sure he'd be willing to accept an end of the bench role with us.

quote:

“It’s about time I become a 20-plus minute player,” Robinson said. “I haven’t played over 13 minutes my whole career. To me, it’s BS. But I’m trying to put that out there that it’s about time I become a 20-minute plus player.”

This was a quote from him back in April. Don't think we have the minutes he's looking for.

I thought I saw him on a list of free agents. Maybe he is restricted.

Looks like Solo did improve. Encouraging comparisons.

Not sure he is going to get that. He could not get it when he was with Philly, although I think it was close.

Its not like we're super deep at PF behind AD right now and he's only going to get 5-10 minutes a game no matter what. Is it a huge stretch to think if he comes in and performs well that he could supplant DC as the backup PF and play some situational small ball C? Its not like Cheick will be seeing heavy minutes this year.

And not only backup PF. Last year, he played as much C as PF. In theory, if he came in and killed it, he could be the 3rd big and get a nice chunk of minutes, and start the games AD misses

Did you know...

Thomas Robinson was the first player since Sabonis in 83-84 to post 6 straight double doubles while playing fewer than 32 minutes in each game

There are red flags. At least in my mind.

quote:

"It's about time I become a 20-plus minute player," Robinson said early this week, per The Brooklyn Game. "I haven't played over 13 minutes my whole career. To me, it's BS. But I'm trying to put that out there that it's about time I become a 20-minute plus player."

quote:

but myself personally, I think that going into this summer, that’s what I want anybody to know. That I deserve to play 20-plus minutes.

LINK /

He very recently whined publicly that it is BS he isnt playing more. Made it public he thinks he deserves 20 plus minutes wherever he ends up. That in his mind he has earned that. Which to me, I am not so sure.

The man wants a chance to play
I have no problem with what he said

No, he is all but demanding to play. Publicly chastising his team. That is a big difference in my mind.

He is acting rather entitled for a guy that is so flawed in so many areas. And handling his grievance in the worst possible way, by complaining to the media. He does one thing well and that is board. For instance the article mentions how he was the worst player on a bad nets team in Real Plus/Minus. Ranked near the bottom of all eligible PF's in the same stat. 87th in Defensive Real Plus/minus. He is a low percentage scorer for his position and FT shooter.

He has some pockets of potential like his defensive FG% within 6 feet of the basket, not great, but promising. But if it is coming with a guy that is going to possibly become a problem if the staff don't think he has earned 20+ minutes a game, well, he can go elsewhere in my mind. He's not worth the risk for what he has shown so far in his career.
