Won't be even close to doing that.

The Bogut comparison was legit.

Ill take it that you think he can do what DeAndre Jordan did for the Clippers this past year... And I even said its a close call and would be thrilled with either Asik / Monroe, and that Asik is a better fit for what we need.

But I seriously doubt Asik can do what Jordan did this past year. He might have a similar stat line, but will be less efficient and wont have an many blocks. But the biggest difference IMO is just pure athleticism. Jordan can get up and down the court like a guard. Hes crazy athletic and agile for his size.

Asiks a little bit of both DeAndre Jordan and Bogut.

I would love either Asik / Monroe though. Doesnt bother me which 1... both would be great for us.

True Story. I was taking the family downtown around the Bourbon Street and French Market area. Walking up Decatur, and who do I see? Greg Monroe. Tallest person out of everyone else that is near him. No one recognizes him but me. I run up and ask him if he's back in town for some secret deal to play for the Pelicans. He said with a grin from ear to ear, "Maybe, I want to play for my city next to AD."

I want Monroe next to AD, even though Asik seems to be the better fit.

imo monroe, way more athletic,

if he is more athletic, it's not by much. his athleticism is a big negative, which is why he sucks on D

Asik is a defensive force, which would imply he's more athletic (but i'm not sure)

We have as much a shot at Monroe as we did at Minnesota's center last off-season.

Gotta go with Monroe.

Mainly because he is younger. (27 vs. 23) Which means Monroe still has some maturing and upside. That also fits better with our young core.

Also, Asik has really only had one good year rebounding. Monroe's rebounding numbers over their careers are better. (9.0 RPG for Monroe vs. 7.2 RPG for Asik) And no questioning the offense either. (13.9 PPG vs. 5.6 PPG)

I am serious. And don't call me Shirley.

And I was just trying to point out that Asik hasn't proven he does this on a consistent basis yet.

Asik would be ideal assuming he is the right $. Solid defensive 5 that brings toughness and rebounding for about 20-25 mins per game.

I think Robin Lopez is the ideal C to go along with AD.
