Every team in the league thinks the grass is greener on the other side. The Bucks' #2 pick is the only lottery pick that I haven't seen mentioned as a trade up/down/out candidate.

The Kevin Love sweepstakes are heating up with quite a few legitimate bidders (Chicago, Denver, Boston, Golden State, Cleveland). The Melo sweepstakes may not be far behind (Chicago and Houston seem to be the leaders there), and there is even talk of the Big 3 breaking up and things like LeBron to the Clippers or Bosh to Houston happening.

Hopefully there's enough churn and need of facilitation that we can get a good deal on picking up or getting rid of something.

I think it will be really interesting that's for sure.

The more activity there is, I think the better for us. Teams will be wheeling and dealing, and the teams that lose out will feel they NEED to make a move.

CBA has made FA and the summers much wilder while the trade deadline is a bore now.

One Gordon landing spot we haven't seen much discussion about is the Lakers. Melo/LeBron aren't going there. Love will likely opt in wherever he is dealt, so he joins Durant in the summer of 2016 FA. I can't see them giving Gasol more than 2 years so they can have max space for that summer and I don't know if he takes a low offer to play for a non contender. LA will need "star" power to appease Kobe and their fans that also won't ruin their 2016 cap space.

Have you met, Eric?

Gordon fits their massive cap space and their need to have a clear cap sheet for summer of 2016. Pelicans could even work out a S/T with Hill (and/or Jodie Meeks if Morrow is likely to bolt) if there is mutual interest.

I guess Kobe and Gordon could play together since Kobe is a ball hog and Gordon is a good spot up shooter, but who defends the fast PG?

Oh I don't think it really works on the court- maybe you move Kobe more towards a SF role? But Buss the Younger is a doofus. And Gordon gives them the appearance of at least trying while really just holding room until 2016.

ETA: H/T to you for the "Have you met Eric?" joke.

I was looking for a pic to fark but couldn't find a good one. There doesn't even seem to be a single picture of Demps and Gordon in the same room since the initial trade.

Would the Lakers send Nash for Gordon? Nash wouldn't even have to move to Nola, we could just pay him his $9 mil and tell him thanks for saving us $21 million. Enjoy LA and Canada.

We would have money to sign Morrow and a few extra bucks outside of the MLE. Plus the 2015 cap room we want.

It all depends on whether they want to make a splash in 2015 or 2016. 2015 has some good options, LeBron if he doesn't opt out and loses again, Marc Gasol, Rondo, Al Jefferson (player option). But Durant may well be the headliner of the 2016 class, and with Kobe getting ready to head off to pasture by then, that might be the better time to attract your next star.

I've heard rumors about Pierce going to the Lakers. I'm guessing they'll add a bunch of veterans on cheap contracts or look to pick up a couple of expiring guys. Make a one year run.

All this talk about doing anything possible to get rid of EG is nonsense. The man is the centerpiece of the team; he's the engine that make everything move and he's the undisputed leader of this band of misfits!

If you don't believe me, ask EG!

Something tells me Love ends up in Boston. The Celtics have to make a splash and the fan base would throw tons of money at the team in ticket sales if they got him.

Future picks aren't going to cut it in this sweepstakes.

Question: After the Howard debacle in LA, do you think any team will mortgage the future to get Love without a long term commitment?

The problem is they don't have the assets to pull it off. The #6 pick is their best asset. It sounds like there is a legit bidding war going on right now, the Wolves aren't going to sell low, they'd wait until the deadline for that.

"Sources" say that Flip isn't looking to rebuild. I'm sure he'll take as many high draft picks as he can get, but what he's seems to want are productive young vets that can play next to Rubio and Pekovic today.

Everything I'm reading says that teams are putting forth legit offers. The Warriors original position was Klay Thompson was off the table. Now maybe this is tied to Love picking up his option year like Chris Paul did, but the rumored activity and what teams have said suggests they aren't scared.

"If this (Kevin Love/Klay Thompson trade) happens, I will have to talk (Klay) down from the ledge,” Mychal Thompson said on @ESPNLA710.

Yikes. That is a bad deal for the Wolves. That is considerably worse than the Paul/Lakers trade.

You really think so? I kind of like it for the Wolves. Lee and Thompson are good players and they would control them for the next two years. They aren't going to get full value for Love now. I think it's the best package they are going to get.
