Also, dont forget if you took a poll of all the members on this board i would bet dollars to donuts the vast majority prefer the better product as far as entertainment goes, NCAA basketball

College basketball is boring . . . except for a handful of games . . . until March madness. Now I'm sure the NBA is not as popular on this site overall because its populated, largely, by southern kids whose first love is football.

The NBA is an amazing game to watch if you like basketball played at its highest level. As far as the "thug" thing, that criticism is soooo 1990 and outdated. Today the NFL is far more thuggish. You just can't see the tats as well.

Used to be, but that started to die when Magic got Aids and Bird left shortly after. As to thugs, i dont agree the NFL is far more or even more thuggish. It's not just the tats, its the hitting coaches, boorish behavoir, the leagues inaction, etc.

While the NCAA has definitely gotten more boring, and this year it is particularly so, the NBA is way more boring. I am not sure why that is because when the Lakers-Celtics hook up or its the playoffs unless someone is down 3-0 it's a great game.

NCAA will win a popularity contest almost anywhere except maybe NYC and Boston (LA and Chicago too maybe???) But it is more pronounced and overwhelming here not only because of football but because it's the south and college sports are more popular here by and large.

You don't know enough about what's going in the league . . . on and off the court. You clearly don't.

Wait, are you talking about the NFL or the NBA? Because the NFL has coaches intentionally injuring players, players taking pictures of their junk and sending them to reporters with no league action, and coaches hitting other coaches (see the Raiders).

And if you seriously want to talk about tats, I would remind you that Dennis Rodman has been retired for a while, and most NFL players have tats.

Hey, its obvuous you like the NBA. Congradulations. But I do know what's going on in the league and it contributes to their lack of popularity.

A lot of Louisiana people hate the hornets. I was just hassled on the tiger rant for my hornets avitar, which I might add is awesome. Why the anti-support?

A lot of people throughout Louisiana hate all things NOLA. The Hornets, the Saints (though a lot of them jumped on the bandwagon last season), the culture, etc...

Over the last five years, there have been far more incidents of thuggish behavior on the part of NFL players than those in the NBA. I mean on a percentage basis, too . . . not just total numbers.

Please provide examples.

I didn't say skill, obviously the worst NBA team would beat Ohio State or the best Duke or UK team ever by 50 plus if they wanted too, entertainment is what I mean. Hey, I want the Hornets to stay and thrive, i love Louisiana teams and will always support them when I am back home in town. It's not my fault they are not economically viable in NOLA.

Here's the list.

NFL arrests. NBA don't even sniff this shite. Even percentage wise.lol.

You know it has to do with the NBA having A LOT of "certain" players. So people assume they're thugs. I bet people can't even name 20 NBA players that have been arrested since 2000. I can probably name 10 and I have to do a SEARCH to find them. As far as the tats and cornrows, you see that shite in the NFL. As far as the "rap" music at NBA games, you hear that at NFL games during pregame, halftime, and when the dancers/cheerleaders dance during TV timeouts, etc.

And as for the "fights". There's way more "fights" in the NHL and MLB compared to the NBA. Lets bring up Ron Artest and Detroit. There's been other sports where players put their hands on fans.

Texas players going after Okie State fans.

NHL players going after fans in the stands...

NHL player grabs a fan for talkin trash...

Another NHL vs "fan" incident....

Only problem for you is

1. The NFL has way more players than the NBA

2. The NHL is a good product, their athletes are accesable to fans and decent people who play hard every night, no tanking it like the NBA.

3. I go to NFL games and many different venues, one of the only one playing that horrible rap music is the saints, none at Giants Stadium, Arrowhead, LP Field, Foxborough
