I agree with your points on Demarre. He's exactly what we have lacked going back to CP3. It's hard to find a solid wing player and all the top tier teams have them. I know the local radio keeps talking about how he took it personally that he wasn't selected for the ASG. I really think he's going to burn the ECF down and play himself into a big contract. Pels have so many players that will be UFA's and his $$ will keep us out

If we were to acquire Carrol, move reke to the 2 and rid of Gordon.

Tyreke could just come off of the bench in his 6th man role.

Tyreke/Cole/QPon/Ryno/Ajinca(or any C) bench would be rad.

Or play jrue at the 2 in your scenario.

I'd have a very hard time getting rid of Gordon and asik just to get a SF. But that's just me.

That's the place we're in unfortunately. None of our trade assets are good enough to return 2 for 1, and couple that with our cap space situation it's really hard to move forward without taking steps back first. Just about the only move I see where we get better is something you suggested, Ryno for Monroe but still keeping Asik and then using the MLE on a SF that can replace Ryno's 3 point shooting like Gerald Green or Dunleavy Jr.

This season Monroe at $14.5 and Asik at $10 seems like a lot, but the escalating cap make's Monroe's deal reasonable for what he brings and if Asik's deal is declining, he's getting solid backup center money in years 3 and 4 of the deal, not an overpay at all, and I think most would feel a lot more comfortable with Asik as the 3rd big. Not to mention that Monroe is a more reliable player than Ryno, won't have as many highs, but will have fewer lows.

Live in Atlanta and word is that he's leaving the Hawks.

word where? about the most I've heard of him being slightly unhappy is him not being out there when the bench led the comeback against the Wiz (game where Pierce banked the buzzer beater). the Hawks have some cap flexibility, and they've been creative with how they do things. I think they re-sign him if they want to, and I can't see why they wouldn't.

I've heard the same things about him leaving too. Started near the end of the season. The Knicks apparently really like him are going to throw a lot at him, and he has expressed interest in NY as well. Still, Atl. has plenty of Cap space so I doubt he gets away. Either way, his play during the regular season already pushed his value out of our price range and this playoff run only cemented that fact.

It's unfortunate that wings that looked like potential options at the beginning of the season like Middleton and Carroll played their way out of MLE numbers. Though perfect fits, it seems like there is no way to acquire either without just making another hole on the roster.

He's already played his way into a big contract IMO. Averaging 17pts, 7rebs, a few assists and steals and shooting 52%from field and 43% from 3 this post season. While playing great D. He's been excellent in the playoffs.

Very interested in seeing how he does vs Lebron. If you look at the playoffs the last few years, guys have stepped into the spotlight going vs LBJ and taken their game to a new level, Paul George in 2012, Jimmy Butler in 2013, Kawhi Leonard in Finals last year. If Carroll has a good series vs LBJ, he could get even more $$$ this offseason.
