I think it's fair to bash Gentry some. He hasn't been very good. But I do think the issue is bigger than "dumb coach." That's what 95% of Pels fans said about Monty too.

The "nice" thing about the Pels roster is that they need so many competent players that system doesn't really matter at this point. And Gentry, at least in theory, is advocating for multi-skilled, basketball IQ guys. Even if he flames out, they should have guys capable of adapting to a new style

Frazier has a high basketball IQ. I like his game a lot, and I think he could be a really good backup PG going forward.

this is what the portland fanbase has been telling us since we signed him. He's proven to be a damn bright spot in all of this.

Which brings up the potential question of...what do we do with Tyreke? Cole won't come back if Frazier continues to play this well. Jrue is already a solid PG and if his health is pristine we'll be set, even if he were to go down Frazier showed me he's more than capable.

I don't care if Cole was solid for us last season, he is way too inconsistent. He also has a tendency to take terrible, low percentage shots. I'll take Frazier of him, and it's not close for me personally at least. I've seen enough. I want the smarter player. Gentrys scheme. If he is our coach going forward, needs high Bball IQ players.

That's what he did last year too, he just was on a hot streak for that quarter of a season.

As it was said before, you really cannot read anything in to these performances.

SOMEONE HAS TO SCORE RIGHT????

Well, when your entire line up is full of scrubs, then scrubs are going to put up numbers.

I certainly don't credit the coaching staff. Shoot, even Austin Rivers had a good 3 game stretch once.

scoring is 1 thing, but can you explain

Frazier shooting 45% from 3?

Ennis shooting 46% from 3?

both guys would own 2 of the top 3 TS% on the team.

They just aren't "scoring". They are scoring in elite fashion.

Sure. Sample size tho. It's promising and fun to watch, but 600 combined MP in the spring isn't much to hang your hat on.

Norris Cole last year fooled Pels fans who don't watch other teams because he hit at a clip well above his career % in 28 games last year.

Hope it works out for these guys and they should definitely bring both back rather than opting for Toney Douglasses or Alonzo Gee/Salmons of the league again.

it could go either way. Ish Smith was pretty good in limited time and proved to be formidable.

Brian Roberts, Jason Smith, Grevis Vazquez, Robin Lopez before them.

all these guys made good of their "small sample" sizes. It's not always one way.

No shite. They could carve out a role in the league. And I hope they do.

Your "elite" scoring point is still facile

It's clear Gentry's system can get more out of marginal players. We've got to figure out how to get his system to work with our top guys playing. I'd rather a coach that isn't one dimensional but he's what we have at least another year.

I think Frazier and Ennis have a role on the team next year. Not sure either of them are 40+% 3pt shooters but they deserve some play next year.

I think the better way to phrase it is, they are shooting in an elite manner. Their scoring is still middle of the road for starters.

On 31 and 50 3PA. Just like Alonzo Gee was a 40% 3P shooter from the corners over the last 2 seasons.....

This is just stupid. Whatever makes you feel better, big dog

dude, i know how small sample sizes work. My point is, they just dont always go away. I dont expect either to shoot 45% from 3 next year.

My original response was to the guy who said "someone has to score".

they aren't just scoring, they are doing it at a high level. If it were just volume scoring, I wouldnt even take notice.
