According to you, or according to Howard? It's all up to Howard's perception.

They got rid of Biendrens, Jefferson, and Rush. The contracts all expire after this season and add up to roughly 24mil.

I would love to have Harrison Barnes with the Pelicans.
Barnes' contract is very small, why would they be looking to unload someone with such potential and a small contract?

BUT yeah, GSW, deal Barnes to us, then go after DH12. Keep him out of our division.

I think the only reason they would want to get rid of Barnes would be in a sign and trade with the Lakers. The Lakers would want something back that they could build on. I don't think the Warriors would trade Barnes if it wasn't part of that S&T scenario.

I'm not sure I get this move for them considering how their roster is set up and the success they had with it last year

They were at their best with Barnes playing the 4 when David Lee was hurt. Starter/bench whatever, but I bet they are trying to get a 3 guard lineup on the court more.

If the Lakers decide not to do a S&T then the Warriors could sign Dwight outright by cutting or trading the end of the bench, Bogut and Barnes. Barnes very well could be available to a team with cap space. I'm sure there are many teams with better cap space/future pick situations than the Pelicans if it came to that though.

Trying to juggle a dozen things, but as others have reported, this is huge: GSW renounced rights to Jarrett Jack to do Utah deal.

If they don't get Dwight this could be big. Although not too many FAs left so probably just use the MLE to resign him.

Do you really think that they would attempt to trade Barnes, other than to the Lakers with the potential S&T? They would have to trade him and not take back much, if they wanted to sign Howard outright. Maybe I'm looking at him as more of an asset than he is though.

If the only way to get Howard was to dump Barnes, Bogut and the end of the bench, then yes, I think they dump Barnes. I'm pretty sure they could get a decent pick for him though so the Pelicans wouldn't be in the mix.

Maybe Barnes to Cleveland for their 2014 first?

ETA: Just looking at their roster; I thought maybe they would have other less valuable players with salaries comparable to Barnes, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

I'd sacrifice 6 million to be in the playoffs every year and not the lotto. What was the original title btw?

So Demps gets Evans/Withey for Vasquez/Lopez and GSW gets Iggy for Jefferson/Jack's rights/ 2014 and 2017 1st rounders?

Demps is the fricking man
