now anderson is moveable and you have a 1st rounder to attach to him for a wing?
Anderson and Lee may play the same position but hardly play the same role. Still if they are feeling kind enough to attach a first I agree, you do it. Unfortunately Gordon doesn't fit their switch everything defense.

Meh, they are both expirings. I think there could be better deals out there

Could he start at the 5? If so, replace Asik with him. Not sure how his defense is though. Anyone want to vouch for that?
Step away from the keyboard.

Or just spend $3m on a pick in that range and have a much more sensible roster.

i'll bet you a 6-pack no 1st round picks are sold this year

The only way this works is if you move AD to the 5 and play Lee/Ryno at the 4 depending on the match-up. I don't really like that idea though. That being said, it's a moot point with that salary.

Yeah, the newer rules on money pretty much killed buying 1sts.

I don't like that idea either. Seems like it would just be a huge clusterfrick in the front court.

David Lee's best season as a pro came playing center for the Knicks

I was waiting for someone to post that
thank you
David lee on an expiring playing backup PF/C would be a risk well worth taking and the potential rewards could be huge

What? Lee was the featured player on a 29 win team with the 3rd worst defense in the league. That is an endorsement that he can play the 5 competently?

Uh, not for the Pels. $15M for a backup on a team looking to make a leap is crazy. You're letting recency bias get the best of you. This is a guy replaced by Mareese Speights during the regular season. At that price, Lee is not better than Anderson or Gordon and certainly not both, including whatever wing you think they could get in a trade.

I just have to laugh sometimes.
Dude plays pretty well in 10 mpg in 3 finals games and now some pels fans think it would be good value to roll with this dude as a starting center for 82 games + hopefully more than a first round exit in the playoffs.
C'mon guys. Yall should be better than this.

Looks like one pels fan suggested that. I had to point out he has played center in the past, though.
As far as assessing Lee in general, the guy was banged up this season and by the time he was healthy, the Warriors were on their way to a near 70 win season with a set rotation.. I'm not sure that means he sucks, as he averaged 18/9 as a starter on a 50 win team the year before. There is no need for him and his salary on GS, but he will probably go somewhere and be productive next year

the year before he was 1 of 7 players in the NBA to average 18/9
not saying he'd fit because of his contract, but to act like he is some bum is stupid.

But can he be productive with AD? If you want to go heavy on offense, Ryno seems like the better fit so as to give spacing. But can Lee defend guys in the paint? I'm not sure how to look up his metrics/stats on interior defense, but his reputation says he's not a good defender. I don't see any way that an EG for Lee trade makes sense. Maybe Reke for Lee if we want to clear cap space for 2016, but I don't know if GSW wants to do that, even if they do lose Dray.
