People will overreact to every loss but there are only five games that matter and they haven't lost any of those yet. The three against Denver and the two against Portland are pretty much must wins

Only have t play .500 ball in all the others and we all should have chalked up losses in the two Jazz games, the two Rockets games, and the Warriors game

This team still has a far better chance to make the playoffs than it does to even finish with a bottom 8 record

They will land somewhere between the 11th pick and 15. It is what it is. It's about this summer anyway. Stop thinking about "the tank"

very realistic, we end up around 34-35 wins and sit around "10" come lotto time.

Which is exactly what we were all expecting after learning Jrue would miss the start of the season. The crazy part is we could have never guessed the roller coaster ride it would take to get to 10.

We'll have to go on a 10 game win streak to even have a realistic shot at the playoffs

Nylon calculus did a story yesterday showing that the ineffectiveness of AD/DC is mostly bad luck. Basically the team gets way more and better shots with those 2 on the floor, but they miss most of those good shots at a much higher than expected rate. The role players seem to be coming around, hopefully they can put it all together and go streaking.

Don't tell that to Bill Simmons. He's still proclaiming we've been fleeced by the Kings and the AD/Boogie era is a failure after a 10 game sample size.

there is some of that, certainly. and more, better shooters will help. but Pels fans thinking that "just add shooters" solves every problem are likely fooling themselves

yes, the 3PT% is down. some of that is bad luck. some of that is also having Davis/Cousins take a combined 6.5 3PTA/G since the trade. and that gets at a fundamental issue of spacing and comfort for 2 big guys used to having an entire system dedicated to their talents. well, now they are sharing the ball and operating space. we all agree neither guy is a spot up shooter. so how do you consistently maximize the talents of both bigs in the halfcourt in 2017?

that doesnt mean it can't work or that they shouldnt have traded for Cousins. but it is a more complex answer than most want to think about

Need to go watch tapes of zbo/gasol. Needing a sf has been what makes or breaks playoff teams. Get that kind of hill more often and were easily a playoff team. Get the borderline dleague version and we lose a lot

The Nuggets next three are again the Rockets back-to-back and then the Cavs. It's possible we make up some more ground before we play them.

On the plus side, I don't know if we were catching Post-Cousins even if we finished playing .650 ball.

ETA: especially if teams like the Clippers are gonna use the Denver altitude as the excuse to rest players.

I would agree, but 2 things-

1) Marc was happy putting up only 15ppg (USG% under 20 the first few years they were good). Not impossible, but that's a big adjustment for Davis/Cousins

2) Those offenses were still awful. Good enough b/c the defense was one of the best in the league though

Right. But that's sort of the issue- they were building to a team centered around Davis at the 5. In that world, Hill as a 4 makes sense (still upgradable).

Need to rethink the blueprint. Right now it's all about maxing out Davis/Cousins on court partnership. They really need to be thoughtful over this last stretch about who they are now, what works, and the type of players that will fit best into this new framework.

I don't expect them to find a perfect roster this summer, but I'll be curious to see what they start to do.
