My downvote is merely an indication of a shitty thread.

The Warriors weren't "Warriors-tier" until literally last year.

Prior to that they fired their coach, lost in the 1st round to an extremely dysfunctional Clippers team, and just weren't very impressive at all

Trade all of them and try to rebuild for real

If we can get a first rounder in the 18-23 range we need to jump on it. Keeps us flexible and I think Ryno is going to cost 18+. No D and same position as AD seals it.

We could trade cole for Durant and we still wouldn't be warriors tier.

Thunder have Westbrook and Durant and they aren't warrior tier.

Well, there's something to build your franchise around.

I understand that. And, hopefully, you can find a gem in the 18-23 range. But, again, it's a crapshoot.

Certainly. But that is what you have to compete with to be the best. The Warriors, Cavs and Spurs of the world.

You have to be able to beat the best to be the best. And if AD finds himself inching into the top 3 players in the league he is going to be wanting to be in that company next go round. It is only natural for a competitor after they have made their money.

Does Simmons or another superstar caliber player put us in that discussion? If we get the right role players and staff I think in 4 years you certainly can be in that conversation. Can you say that with Ryno, Jrue and Evans? I can't. Jrue seems to have a strong case but the rest don't. From a tangible or intangible stand point.

And that should tell us just how hard it is to win in this league.

Question. Who is in the "Warrior tier" other than the Warriors?

IMO, Spurs and Cavs.

They are the elite teams of the league right now. Of course the Warriors are the elite of the elite so in that sense no one. But I think any of those three could win if healthy. As good as the Warriors look a healthy Spurs would be a tough matchup in a 7 game series.

Nah.

Spurs are good. Like, really good. But they also got clowned by the Warriors and the Cavs this week. Not saying they couldn't beat GS in a seven game series, but they have a lot of work to do before the playoffs if they want another ring.

Cavs aren't close to Warriors level. Warriors are still on pace to be the best team of all time. Cavs are maybe the third best team this year.

decent mid level SF.

I'd be surprised if a team gives up a decent mid level SF for an expiring Anderson (that Lowe Washington trade is a no brainer for the Pels if they are thinking beyond the next 4 months). Same thing with his cap space this summer. SFs are Hamilton tickets right now.

Lots of talk about overpaying Anderson this summer, which could very well happen. People need to realize they could also easily overpay a mediocre wing with that $$. Everyone will have cap space. The same forces that makes an Anderson overpay possible, make it possible for other targets too- especially at the most in demand position.

The Pels aren't getting Durant or Batum. If a lower tier guy like Aminu got 4/$30M last summer, what is Jeff Green getting? Or Deng? How do people feel about $12M for Evan Turner?
