Your New Orleans Pelicans are no where to be found. Seems pretty stupid to do before free agency is even over but whatever.

I think this may reiterate the point that you trade your first rounder now while it's perceived to have more value, assuming any GM around the league thinks similarly to this:

LINK

1. GSW
2. SA
3. HOU
4. OKC
5. MIN
6. DEN
7. LAC
8. POR
9. UTA
10. MEM

quote:

Even in flux, the Grizzlies feel like a safer bet than getting 70 games of flawless basketball from all three of Anthony Davis, DeMarcus Cousins, and Jrue Holiday, who are trying to lift up a trash heap in New Orleans.

This is because Bill Simmons wants the Celtics to poach AD and literally the only reason. He's been negging New Orleans since well before the Boogie trade. I'm not sure what he really thinks he is accomplishing here

Simmons has never liked the Pels, but he ever since the Cosuins trade he goes out of his way to belittle the team. He is still buth-hurt over the Pels getting Boogie for so little while Danny sat on his assets

The comments on that article for Boogie trades are hilarious.

Simmons is a tool. I have never liked him or respected anything he says. He is almost like a cartoon character.

I've always thought he tries to be the next Skip Bayless. There's already one too many of those in the world.

The difference is that Skip knows what he's doing. Bill is just an idiot. And a MASSIVE, entitled homer.

BS went off the rails a long time ago. He used to be entertaining and then he started taking himself WAY too seriously.

I don't really understand why celtics fans just think they can get AD, who is about as untouchable as Lebron James. If we ever trade him, it will be with one year left on his deal, not now or next year.

Also, Simmons said in his podcast yesterday that of all the teams in the NBA, New Orleans deserves to lose their team the lost.

I listened to a Simmons Pod this morning discussing Free Agency and they discussed the Pels for 2 mins and he tried in every way to dismiss the Pels. Simmons hates that the Pels got Boogie for nothing and wants the Celts to poach AD asap. He wants to discredit the Pels as much as possible.

anthony davis has won nothing in 5 seasons
demarcus cousins has won nothing in 8 seasons
ZERO playoff wins in only one series between them

jure holiday has won one playoff series in 8 seasons, which was 5 years ago

this team has done NOTHING to warrant any complaining over lack of respect/etc in a preseason ranking.

He's definitely in the "outside of like 8 teams no one else matters and should be contracted" camp. It's annoying.

Utah lolol. That team will rely on Joe Johnson to drop 25 a game.

Definitely, Simmons's view on the NBA is that small market teams serve almost as farm teams to the larger market teams, where the large market teams poach the small market team's best player just as they hit their prime.

He did raise an interesting point that the new super max deal might hurt small market teams more than help.

Not really that intriguing of a point if half the league or more is willing to go into the tax with enough success.

The guy said on his podcast that New Orleans doesn't deserve to have a team and we should be moved to Seattle. He's a prick

I disagree with the Pels being behind LAC, for sure.

I really like Denver, so I'm cool with us being behind them.

I think Utah, New Orleans, Portland, and Memphis are in similar positions, fighting for those last two playoff spots. Utah scares me because they still have a good bit of talent, and Snyder is a super good coach. That team could stack up some regular season wins.

Pels still look like a fringe playoff team at this point.
