Great article from Oleh at TBW focusing on the positives of recent Rondo. The negatives are still there of course, it's just the positives rarely get discussed and Oleh has pulled them all into one place.
It's a long article but worth the read if you're looking for reasons on why the Rondo signing might help the team a lot. LINK

if they get motivated, focused Rondo, even at 31, that's a great deal.

for AD:
3 years with Monty: 71% of his shots were assisted
2 years with Gentry: 68.0%
along with the volume, that's a full made shot per game he's creating on his own.

This was probably the most encouraging part of those articles for me. Numerous younger players see Rondo as a brother and mentor for his basketball knowledge. Many credit him with helping them develop the mental aspects of their game in terms of film study, preparation, and in-game decision making.

I am biased. I really liked Rondo during those Boston title years. Even though he's had some run ins with coaches and players since then, I still am optimistic that he can tap back into that player.
Look how different the Bulls were after Rondo got hurt this past postseason.

Too bad we don't have any younger players on this team. Outside of Diallo and Jackson, AD is still the youngest on the team.

Rondo has good habits for being a professional basketball player that this team that hasn't had much veteran leadership in forever could use. Who was the last useful veteran player that actually helped a guy on this team? PJ Brown? The Pels many not be super young, but most of them haven't had much in the way of a guy they trust to keep them in line.

Our most important player is one of the youngest. If Rondo can help AD better his game prep and on court BBIQ as he supposedly helped Cousins, that would be huge. If AD can learn to better recognize and make the right pass out of double teams, that helps tremednously.
Jrue also could learn a lot from Rondo and developing Cook and Jackson into cheap depth would be beneficial.

But...Rondo keeps moving when his defender is ignoring him. Never just stands there. Then, gets the ball and makes D pay one way or another
So, Rondo on the court might initially decrease space for Boogie and AD. But if people cut and the ball moves (Fitch), he will be a plus
Rondo moves to open spots better than any perimeter player we have had since Peja. He is smart enough to figure out how to cut the defense
