Not legal. Contract has to be at least 3 years to do an extension. If we create cap space I'd expect him to get our $2.7 million room exception. If we don't have cap space, hopefully the $2 million biannual exception is enough.

I forgot about that...

you get the point though, he's great off the bench, gives this team energy that we didn't have before him. Definitely a guy that I wouldn't mind on this team. All we're missing is a starting SF and we're contenders imo.

Questions for those that watched:

-How'd Jimmer look on D?

-How did Jrue do on Bledsoe/Goran?

-Ryno/Asik looked really good by the box score

We suck at FTs again?

Great win boys

In the cap space situation we may have to choose between Rivers and Cunningham but I don't think the choice is very hard.

No kidding

I really hope we can retain Cunningham.

Jimmer was actually serviceable on D. Better than Rivers who got torched all night by Dragic and Bledsoe.

Jrue played well on both guys. Problem is, he can't guard both of them at one time

Ryno and Asik both played well. Phoenix basically took Asik out of the game in the 2nd half with a tiny lineup

Asik actually had some difficult catches in traffic and managed to finish a few times.

I thought it was smart of PHX to go small and get asik out of the game...he was disrupting their offense and giving Len fits at the other end

Davis went nuts on the defensive glass on that small lineup though

I think 4 years. Smith had a 3 year deal, was not eligible for an extension. Also, extensions are true extensions, so the value in the final year is, in many cases, an anchor point for the value going forward... Basically, the next season's salary has to be in that "raise window" of 7.5%, unless it is a rookie extension.
