It's disappointing we couldn't get anything for TJ at the deadline but I'm not mad we're letting him walk. He wasn't going to get anymore playing time so it seems to be an amicable breakup. I'll miss the best pump fake in the league though

Maybe their spreading this rumor to entice a team into a trade; a team that knows they won't get him if he's released on waivers.

I'm lost---wouldn't T. jones be the first big off the bench? Same as he is now?

If they stagger AD and Boogie, you want your third big to be a facilitator, not a black hole. But yeah, they would have probably kept him if they weren't trying to appease Boogie's agent.

Small price to pay. I'm glad he is gone.

You know what makes Cousins happy? Having good players around him.

I'm not sure what the Jones camp is thinking here. He's had a bounce back year. Is not wanting to play competitive basketball in favor of an extra 10 mins a game on a crappy team really going to increase value? To me, it seems the best look for him is making the most out of the rest of the season. Weird.

He wants the showcase and the stats.

Personally I think there's no bigger showcase than being on a team that is on a playoff run, but maybe he can get that.

I have to imagine they will have a handshake agreement with his agent not to sign with one of the other teams in the Western Conference 8th seed hunt.

if he's going to showcase himself, he has 25 games left to do it. is that REALLY going to do much for you? Getting into the playoffs got guys paid (hello Biyombo) because they balled out. what playoff team needs a big off the bench

This is a really good point. It's a much better bet than very obviously trying to go to a bad team to put up empty stats. A team that truly needs Jones at this point in the season with either a) not be playing basketball in May or b) offering him just as much or less playing time than the Pels. One big winner though is DMO. He should be the third big now that the deadline has passed, and we aren't "showcasing" Ajinca.
