I'll give Jrue and a first away if we are getting back a really good player on a decent contract, like Fournier and Vucevic.

IMHO
Green of Golden State will be on the trading block after this season.
W's will take Jrue and Pels 2017 #1. Protection for 2017 only. W's get the Pels 2018 #1, as is, if 2017 is top 5.

Green understands the game, plays hard and well on D and can score some, as well as Okafor. And he's fine with small ball.

He's wearing out his welcome in SF Bay fast.

You get versatile talented head case. You in?

This is not happening. Green's ability to guard all bigs, distribute, and shoot is the key to that team being elite. He is a top defender on a reasonable contract. He is their glue guy, no chance they trade him.

I was just listening to the radio. KNBR. its the flagship station for the W's.

The co-hosts were both running Green down. And going on and on about how they didn't know how KD could stand "it". I did not hear the beginning of the rant.
Apparently Green uses podcasts to make his points.
The bottom line as I got out of the car with my groceries was
that Green is not making any attempt to get along with KD.

If that is so, I would trade him after the season. Not now. not for Jrue and a #1.
But I would do it after the season. You use that #1 to pick up a front line player.
and you get Jrue to come off the bench with Iggy and the backups. You dump Ian Clark for someone's #2 in 2082. Heck, you throw him in on the deal.

and Green sure meets your requirements in terms of quality player for the deal. I saw him when he was with Mich State playing on one leg. Glorious.
W's got him for a low #2. Wow, did that pay off. He healed eventually.
yr 2, he was "back".

They could not afford to resign Jrue, KD, and Steph. And who do they play at C in small ball lineups? Why would they destroy the best team in the NBA?

Not happening.

Even if you're the favorite people can't stop complaining and nitpicking

I am making it up that Green is not going to be welcome based on combo of personal conflict and his nasty play. I believe he plays that way because he is too small to deal with typical front line players and he is jacked to crazy.

Suppose he is tossed out in the Cleveland series or even sooner in the San Antonio WCF? Green misses a game or two due to his "antics". W's lose to SA.
SA can beat them straight up. Green out. W's lose.
I bet you can have him then. I can't address your issues with cap space and Jrue.
Even if they have to waive goodbye to Jrue when he goes to the Lakers after the 2017, they would be getting a #1 from the Pels, say the 7th pick. Very nice. Could be your answer to defend the interior after Green leaves for New Orleans.

I admit I have not been following the inside baseball about Jrue's contract. For all I know, he could be gone after this season. Forgive me.
I just heard this KNBR chatter about Green and I figure he is going to get dealt if the W's do not win it all. winning heals all. If he is the reason they don't win it all, he is toast.

Ok.
I just thought he met thread requirements for a good deal for Jrue.

Peace. Out. I actually need to get some work done.

The 76ers, according to a source, were not as enamored with the Pelicans offer as maybe it seemed. Sources close to the situation are saying the 76ers wanted guard Jrue Holiday in an Okafor deal instead of the draft pick. Both sides are said to be continuing the dialogue, and now that the talks are out in the open, there will be some urgency to either complete the deal or move on.

Keith Pompey: Jahlil Okafor days in the 76ers are numbered. I’m not 100 percent sure if it’s going to be the New Orleans Pelicans or if it’s going to be the Chicago Bulls. I do know a lot of teams are interested in him.

Chris Mannix: The 76ers value Jahlil Okafor pretty high, and I’m not sure that other teams in the league place that kind of value on him at the moment.

Would think any deal is close to dead. Deals usually get done pretty quickly after a leak or not at all.

I can't think of any Dell deal that was this much in the open that continued. They usually break right before they are done.

The only trade he's ever made that has made a difference is getting Ryno from Orlando for basically nothing.
And that was not even really a trade. It was a FA signing and we sent Ayon to allow them to create a TE.

To me it's not about exploring the other trades available now. It's asking - What kind of players can I get for my 2018 pick this summer or next February and are those guys likely to help me more than Okafor?
While I do not disagree, how realistic is this? It sure sounds like Dell is doing all he can to make a deal now and use that 2018 pick to do so.

Probably not looking positive for a deal. However, we are not out of the woods as long as Dell is so convinced he needs to make a deal now. We can only hope it is not as terrible as we expect.

Sixers are fricking stupid. I wouldn't trade Jrue to the Sixers without getting Simmons or Embiid back.

But Okafor isn't a "I need to save the season but they told me I couldn't trade the 2017 pick" kind of move. I really do think it's a "forward thinking" move about finding a cheap replacement for Jones. If they are going to do a draft day trade of the 2017 pick for a young vet like MM suggests is the plan, they'll need about $17-$18 million in cap space which means not paying market value for Jones.

A lot of people are assuming Demps is gone, but TV and insurance money spends the same as ticket money. Did they fire Loomis/Payton after all of the years of disappointment? No, they brought in Ireland just like the Pels brought in Ferry.

If Jrue hasn't committed to resigning here, you have to trade him. Can't risk letting him go for nothing.
