Would have been nice to have taken the deal the Jazz gave Minny in 2013 and selected Giannis and Rudy Gobert, though.

No strategy is stupid all the time. It's all about how you execute it. There will undoubtedly be someone taken after 6 that is a top 3-5 player in this draft in ten years. Trade back and get that guy and another pick and you are a genius.

Normally I'd agree but I don't see any game changers at 6. I don't see Buddy Hield being more valuable than Ellenson and Valentine (Hypothetically speaking). We have several holes. We should fill as many as we can. We're not gonna get a pro-ready, go to scoring superstar at 6. 2 6'7 wings with games that complement each other and are used to the style our coach likes to play is probably the best we can do.

Trade it and pick up Sabonis. Sabonis will be the NBA Rookie of the Year in 2016-17

My dream scenario right now is that Dunn falls to us, and Milwaukee comes calling to trade up for him. Middleton plus #10 would make my off-season. You can then use what cap space you have left over on someone like Solomon Hill. He is a solid enough 3pt shooter, and he can play the 4 when you go small ball.

while i would love for that to happen, we would have to give up more than just the #6 for Middleton, and they aren't throwing in #10 with him.

For me, I have 3 categories: A) Player straight up for the pick B) You take the pick and you also take Tyreke C) You take the pick and you also take Asik In category A, my bottom level guy is someone like Jabari Parker. Maybe they have enough forwards and want a PG. I would trade 6 for Jabari or Middleton. In catgegory B, I would trade Tyreke and the pick for Demarre Carroll and pick 27. I add a little salary but get a MUCH better fit. Then, I still get a rook at 27 In category C, I would take Brook Lopez or Thad Young. Give me either of those guys and unload Asik, and I am fine.

A - Yes
B - No
C - Maybe

Well if they can trade up they could potentially get Ben Simmons, but I doubt they could pull that off

somebody is going to swing a deal with either Boston or Philadelphia...both teams have more assets than they can use.

Denver too. They have 3 first rounders, 2 seconds
Boston has 3 first rounders, 5 seconds
Philly has 3 firsts, no seconds.
Phoenix has 3 firsts, no seconds.

Those teams can't keep all those firsts, unless they don't plan on picking up in FA this summer. For instance, Boston already has 10 guys under contract, with 2 of them having team options that they'll likely keep. Can't keep 3 draft picks when you already have 12 guys under contract.

Well what do you think the pelicans would have to give to get Ben Simmons? As of now it's looking like the 6ers are taking him.

To get Simmons? Anthony Davis and they'll throw in picks/players. We have no true piece to trade for the most sought out player in ages.

We have to find a way to get Buddy Hield. The guy is going to be a super star. I don't care what it takes.
