Yep, he pretty much nails it.

We need to hit on a draft pick. No two ways about it.

We need to draft and fire the medical staff. The injuries EVERY YEAR are a big reason for our problems.

I've kicked around the idea of #6 for Oladipo before, but he's only got one more year before he's an RFA and will get paid if he's worth having. Might as well wait and hope they still have a glut of guards and you can steal him in 2017 if you really want him.

I don't think the 2 pick deal we did for Holiday would land you Jimmy Butler. Would the Nets consider Brook Lopez for #6, Tyreke and Asik? If so, is Lopez a good match with AD? Because with the money he makes, he'd need to be.

What about TJ Warren? I see a lot of overnight Mocks having Phoenix take Jaylen Brown. Bender if he falls, or Ellenson + Brown would probably be better for them than Warren + Brown.

I always thought the "win now" model was a bad idea for this team. We need to draft and hit on a player and try to get a good FA while that player is still on a rookie contract. We eventually have to stop trading away picks and bad assets for bad assets.

And maybe a new coach any training staff too.

I'd rather Dunn or Hield.

If it did, i'd do it. Hell they can have 3 picks.

No thank you. no thank you at all. and that's saying a lot considering i'd get rid of Asik for just about anything.

not giving up a first round pick for TJ Warren.

Take Hield or Dunn. If they aren't there, i would entertain the idea of trading the pick, but still wouldn't like it that much.
The article stated there are no Demps picks on this team anymore other than AD, in 6 years. We haven't made a first round pick since AD/Rivers, 4 years ago. AD is still the youngest player on the team. It ain't working.

The best case scenario for this offseason is drafting Heild or Dunn thus still having a ton of cap space to hopefully get an above average player to come here. You instantly upgrade your team by 2 good players rather than shipping the pick in exchange for likely one more expensive player.

this guy gets it.

We HAVE TO ADD cheap contributors. Only way to get that is through the draft.

What i want, is to draft Hield/Dunn, but i have a feeling we will end up with Murray, who I kind of don't want. If we take Poeltl, i quit.
I then want to take AJ Hammons/Maker and Caris LeVert/Brogdon with the two seconds. If we don't get Dunn, i would like to get Gary Payton in the 2nd round. I think he might be a sleeper that can turn into a good nba player. He's got retarded athleticism. He's an elite defender, and while he doesn't shoot well right now, he still has good form and the shot looks good. With the right practice and coaching, he can become a good shooter i think.

I then want to sign a SF FA around the $10-15 million a year range, and possibly another SF or SG.

That was a snapshot towards the latter part of the season with half the team injured and the team out of any contention. Heck, Charlotte was a playoff team.

would you get both their pick at 14 or whatever it is and TJ or just TJ for the 6th pick? what kind of value does a 6th pick have?

I would think it has some value. This is a 2 player draft and obviously neither will be there at 6. However, the next tier is about 3-5 players deep and we are at the end of that tier. There is another dropoff after that.

No it isn't.
winning 30 games and trotting out the players, coaches, and medical staff they did this season was disgraceful.
Why would anyone watch that toilet season?

This was easily the first year since the Hornets came to New Orleans that i watched hardly any games. Starting off 0-11 doesn't help.

I think you'd have to give up the 6 pick. Maybe you could get #28 back too, but I seriously doubt you'd get 13 and Warren unless Bender fell and was viewed as a top 3 talent like when Noel fell. If Bender falls to 6 and multiple teams want him, then you get the bidding war going.

I was looking for wings that are young enough to not blow up our cap in 2017, yet established enough that you'd be ok giving up Hield/Dunn for them. I don't know a ton about Warren other than he's a 6'8 scoring wing. If he's just a scorer, which is what his stats suggest, maybe he's not worth the #6 and may not be the SF we're looking for. Gentry wants a more all around wing, so he may prefer drafting Buddy to fill that just a scorer role at SG.

We need to keep the pick. We have no assets outside of AD. Throwing away potential talent on long term cheap contracts for near expiring expensive free agents is a losing proposition.

We are guaranteed one of Bender, Dunn, Murray, or Hield. Do your homework and hopefully hit in the draft. We need to start building a team.
