Don't know if Asik really fits what they do over there. But maybe they'll be desperate?

He seems to really enjoy it there, I couldn't see him leaving. I would guess they probably lowballed him and he felt "disrespected" so he walked out. He thinks he deserves max money

There's no maybe about it. It's the only reason they'd even consider it. They dumped Hawes and Barnes already, so it's not like they can go for a lower priced guy like Pachulia. They have to give up Crawford so might as well get a slightly better center like Asik. The other option would be signing someone like Biyombo to their tax payer MLE. If Jordan leaves they're screwed.

Tyson Chandler's deal with Suns is four years, $52 million, league source says. Phoenix hopes that bolsters its LaMarcus Aldridge pursuit.

Maybe I missed it but hadn't seen this mentioned yet:

Khris Middleton and the Bucks have finalized their five-year, approximately $70 million deal, league source confirms.

13mil/yr for Chandler (4 years) at 32 years of age and will be 33 in october.

And many of you think Asik for 10mil is "expensive". reality is he's worth the 10mil if not 12.

How can Asik at say $9 million be traded with Crawford's $5.6 million slary?

Kyle Singler got 5 years 25 mil.

@WojYahooNBA: Restricted free agent Kyle Singler has agreed to a five-year, nearly $25M extension with Oklahoma City, league source tells Yahoo Sports.

They have some minimum guys with team options they can throw in like Jordan Hamilton and Lester Hudson.

Asik isn't worth 10 mil. Just because a team over pays an old center doesn't mean everyone else should

Pelicans are in discussions to re-sign starting center Omer Asik, sources say. Robin Lopez doesn't appear to be an option at this point.

Looks like Asik is staying...I doubt a S&T will happen

Amir Johnson-Boston is two years, $24 million, source says. Removes $10.5m cap hold for Toronto, which is chasing Wesley Matthews.

Damn $12 million per for Johnson. He's a nice player but seems a lot more like an MLE kind of guy, even though the new cap is killing the MLE, $12 seems excessive.

Thrillho pointed it out earlier. If Aldridge goes to SA and Jordan goes to Dallas, the center/forward matchups in our division will be brutal. You say we shouldn't overpay because everyone else does, well the other option is to do what we did 2 years ago with Stiemsma and Smith getting killed/killing us.

The Amir + Jerebko signings are really eating into the money that Boston can offer Asik. That leaves, what, Portland and Dallas as the teams with space that will need a center. Dallas supposedly would want to bring Wright back if they miss out on DJ.

I'd rather just sign and trade asik and get like John Henson and filler
