Could we add non-guaranteed money in contracts with Cole and Withey to get above the cap to keep the exceptions without re-signing Asik?

None of that is necessary. Pels can use the exceptions so long as they don't sign a free agent into cap space. So if they let Asik walk and would rather the MLE + BAE instead of $6m in space, they can go with the exceptions.

Honestly I wouldn't be opposed to bringing Big Perk in. veteran player and seems like a great teammate.

He's got to be a vet minimum guy at this point right?

Or maybe BAE, but yeah, nobody is spending MLE or more on him.

I mean if want to do all that then there's really two scenarios...

1) Asik + MLE + BAE

2) No Asik + MLE + BAE

Makes more sense to just re-sign asik

He's the designated player on the bench that sweats a lot

Nobody was paying Aminu $7.5M per, either.

It's a new age

At least Perkins could provide vet leadership

Aminu is young.

Perk is definitely considered washed up and done at this point. A team would strictly be bringing him in as a 5th (or so) big. I see him as a Vet minimum guy.

According to Woj:

-Dunleavy to Bulls for 4/14.4m
-Carroll to Toronto for 60 mill
-Green stays with Spurs
-Spurs making serious push for Aldridge
-Thad Young stays with Brooklyn for 4/50 mill
-Miami signs Dragic to 90 mill deal
-Splitter traded to Hawks
-Aldridge meeting with LA didn't go well

So that's several SF's gone.

We were never going to get in on those guys. Like I've said a few times, after we re-sign Asik, its going to be that 3rd round of FA that we get involved in.

Unless there is a trade opportunity.

That's really what I was referring to. We obviously have no room to sign a 60m deal.

@sam_amick 2 mins ago The $$ obviously doesn't work & I have no clue how it would, but the pitch was DeMar at the two, Wes at the three and Carroll at the four.

Hopefully that tweet is accurate and we will have a lot of players that slip through the cracks.

Brought back Ajinca, bring back Asik and Cole...

Gerald Green with the MLE or part of it, Acy with the BAE, use Withey/Douglas to bring back Smith, call it a day?
