He's a solid player and has improved his AST #s in every season he's played. Issue is, can he play off ball with Harden

More importantly, does this signal Denver finally ready to blow it up? Chandler and Gallinari available? Chandler would seem like the type of player the Pels are aiming for now, tweener size that can guard multiple positions and be competent on offense.

chandler just signed a 4 year extension with denver, and I saw where they in talks with Gallo on an extension. I think this move is more about getting rid of Lawson and giving the keys to Mudiay.

I really think we can get him as a plan B/C next summer.

Lawson starts with Beverley off the bench or both starting?

Bc if the former, then Beverley needs to go somewhere else. He is too good to play second fiddle to Lawson

Some suggested he could run the second unit

What's the latest on Gee? Is officially a Pelican or are we waiting for them to match the offer sheet?

He wasn't a RFA.

Not sure it's been officially announced yet, though.

ETA: looked at his Twitter and it seems that he has officially signed

He signed on Friday I think. Still no details on whether it was minimum or more than minimum making us hard capped.

Quincy Acy signs with Kings...

Since we need another big, is there even the slightest chance we can pick up Kevin Seraphin on a vet minimum deal?

I'll repost this as an update:

F/C:

Quincy ACY (signs with SAC)
Kevin Seraphin
Greg Smith
Carlos Boozer
Lou Amundson(signs with NYK)
Ekpe Udoh
Dorell Wright
Darell Arthur
Michael Beasley
Justin Hamilton(had interest from pels but will likely go overseas)
Reggie Evans
Samuel Dalembert

Seraphin is probably the most talented guy left but I'm not sure he comes he as a 5th big. He wants minutes to showcase and the only way that happens is at backup PF. Ryno would have to be moved for him to get 20ish minutes.

It'll probably be a vet

I remember he was a great player I would have loved to have a few years ago. Really haven't watched him much the last two or three years. I remember he had good size and consistent with the 3 pointers.

Anyone watch him lately? And any chance we could bring him in?

He kind of fell off the map in Portland getting a lot fewer minutes and games played. He's only 29 and his 3P% stayed solid, so he would almost seem like an Anthony Morrow style reclamation project. Although I'm not expecting them to add another wing. I'm looking for Cole, 5th guard, 5th big.

Do we really, though?

5: Asik/Ajinca/Davis
4: Davis/Anderson/Cunningham/Babbitt

That's 6 guys who provide minutes at the 4 and 5. Withey also remains unsigned and is looking like an end of bench, vet minimum guy.

Really? I could see another big, but I think we'd be set at guard if Cole signs. Seems like we need another guy to sub in with Cunningham and QPon.

If he is willing to come on a minimum deal, it's a no brainer. I would have preferred him over Gee.

Demps did say he expects everyone to be healthy by camp in a recent interview. If that's true for Jrue then you're right. But I'm torn by all the talking up of Curry and Drew that they're doing.

I think they think that's Gee.

I didn't know this about Gee, he played with Squeaky on the Spurs DLeague team that Demps was GM of.

Having witnessed firsthand the development of several NBA rotation-worthy players such as Ian Mahimi and Alonzo Gee (yep, Demps already had a tie to Gee years ago)

He averaged 21 ppg shooting 40% from 3 that year LINK

So some Pelican fan on reddit claims his sources are saying we are re-signing Norris, Signing Seth, and signing Kendrick Perkins.

LINK /

A lot of people probably wont like Perkins, but he seems like he has a great veteran presence and he is solid on defense. Decent for a 5th big, imo

I really can't see Perkins fitting into the system we are expected to run. He would basically just be the designated low post fouler.
