How can the pels best address needs for next year? Try to be a bit realistic or don't.

Looking at available free agents I think it would be great to bring in Kent Bazemore, Nic Batum, and Joakim Noah. All three have a positive Box Plus Minus and in addition a positive Defensive Box Plus Minus (Basketball Reference).

I also don't think we should resign Gordon or Anderson.

What do yall think?

How you planning on clearing the cap space for that?

The price isn't even set yet. Gordon on the cheap would not be a bad guy to bring back. Anderson will likely be out of our price range. Hopefully a contender will get froggy and jump on a sign-and-trade for him, though.

Gordon with an injury history and limited abilities at this point will be cheaper than most think. The question is do you even give him money at all knowing you won't get him for a full year.

The guy is injured every year of his entire career...... why the hell do you not just want to wash your hands of this and finally be done with it, regardless of the price.

You ready to jettison AD, too? Or can we acknowledge that the training staff is fricked up?

Also, his injury this year is not chronic. His knees held up this year. A broken finger is not an ongoing problem.

Assuming you are being serious, what would you expect in return for AD?

Trade back with Washington and Oubre.
Draft Valentine.
Package your two seconds with whatever you can to move up and possibly snag Sabonis assuming he doesn't go to high, not sure where he is currently ranked.

Holiday
Valentine
Oubre
AD
Sabonis

Reke
Gordon
Anderson

Not sure if it's possible to keep all 3 of Reke, Gordon, Anderson but Do what you can and let the others walk if the price is too high.

If Gordon's contract finally fricking expired and we resigned him to anything beyond a one year deal, I might die on the spot.

Did you just compare AD to Gordon? Ok. Well beyond that being completely ridiculous, put Gordon's injury history aside.

What do you like about Gordon as a player? He's an inconsistent shooter, terrible ball handler, and never is relied on in clutch situations. I'd say the majority of his games if he's on, he'll start off hot in the first quarter and just fizzles out to being non-existent throughout the games, esp in the 4th quarter.

No thanks, let him walk..... that is unless you want to continue down the path of mediocrity.

I would love if something similar happened, or trading back with Utah or Denver. Too bad it's not the NFL where they retardely give you a kings ransom just to move up a few spots.

I'm not excited at all about drafting in the 6th spot, if that's where we draft.

No one wants to trade down in the NBA draft. Thats why it isnt done really.

Trade Jru for a pick and a player. Draft Dunn. Sign Beal/Derozan.

I wouldn't resign Gordon, but I might re-sign Anderson if I could get him cheap enough or if the team could fit him alongside Davis some kind of way..

As for my big plan... here goes. This team needs a star player to pair with Davis. There is one that is very disgruntled and his team might be looking to blow everything up. It would be a huge risk and a lot of people are not going to like it. But I would trade for Harden. I'm thinking Holiday, Ajinca, this years pick and a future # 1 or maybe two of them. I'm sure Boom will let me know if that would be a good starting point. Houston can flip Holiday and Ajinca is serviceable and will fill a need once Howard opts out (I'd give them Asik instead, if they were interested).

As for Harden, he has a good history with Davis. I know he sounds like a horrible mix with Evans. But they can split time at the point. It might work better than we think. Just have to find a swingman still, but it would be a huge splash. Honestly, Harden might be a great fit with Gentry as well.

So let's say we make the trade, resign Anderson and then sign a FA like J. Johnson. That would give us..

Evans/Cole
Harden/FA?
Johnson/Pondexter
Davis/Anderson
Asik/FA?

How bad is that?
