Why would HOU trade harden for picks? A team with Harden and Davis very likely would be a top 4 seed so the pick would be in the 20s.

I suggested a package of Holiday, Ajinca, this years pick (top 6 or so) and a future # 1. That is just a starting point. What do you think it will take? Harden is a great talent, but his value has soured a bit this season.

I'm basing all this on Houston cleaning house after this season. Morey is on the hot seat, you need a new coach (all the good ones have been snatched up), Howard is gone and Harden is in his own world and only does what he wants. You don't have a 1st rounder this year and those other factors might make it hard to attract a major FA this summer.

Hardens not on the block especially not for that package. That's arguably worse than what OKC got for him before he established himself as the best SG In the league.

I think everybody is on the block, for the right offer.

Harden was also younger and didn't have the prima donna label that he has now. But I think its a better offer. You traded K. Martin, J. Lamb and 2 1sts, plus got other players back. I'm offering Holiday (better player than Martin), a top ten pick (Lamb was a 12 and had a horrible rookie year), Ajincia (serviceable Center), plus future pick(s). Tell me what more it would take. I'm willing to sweeten the pot..

Personally I would want no part of Harden.

We don't have what it takes to trade for him (AD excluded). When Houston traded for him they got a great deal, but that was when he was coming off the bench in OKC. He was a top 3 player in basketball last year. His value has gone up you can't use the last trade as a comparison.

If harden is being traded theyre getting a better player back than jrue holiday. That's a disrespectful offer. He has serious injury concerns and even when healthy is a slightly above average starting PG.

And morey philosophy has always been to acquire superstar talent. he wouldn't trade harden for anything less than another superstar. And he still may not do it. HOU has a prob top 5 NBA winning percentage since harden has joined the team. And after 1 .500 season you think they want to blow it up and trade him? There will be changes to the roster but harden won't be one of them.

We don't have the chips, and if we did, it would be stupid to waste them on more empty stats.

Yea bc hardens stats don't lead to team wins. Post the teams w a better winning % over the last 4 seasons since Harden has been in CC

If we're going to fantasize about pipe dreams, then i'd rather try to get Jimmy Butler, you know a guy that actually plays defense to go with his great offensive game.

He doesn't seem to like Hoiberg, and the Bulls might have to make a decision between the two, and they've actually said they are open to trade ideas for him.

I'd give them whatever the hell they want for Butler. Give them Jrue and two first rounders, hell give them 3 first rounders i don't care, anything else they want as well outside of AD.
I doubt we have the assets to do this with Chicago, but a guy can dream.

I don't like Harden. But he is a great player and next to Davis, could be even better (elevating Davis as well). If we want to take a leap, that is the kind of move you have to take. Its the easiest formula to success.

shite is falling apart in Houston. Morey could be gone and the owner might want to go another direction. It might seem proactive or early, but its all a possibility.

As far as the trade value. Love was considered the best PF in the league when he was traded. The Wolves got Bennett (already considered a bust), Wiggins and T. Young. That is a solid starter, a major prospect and, at best, a huge project. I'm offering a solid starter, a good prospect, a nice rotation piece and future picks. That isn't unreasonable..

I'm down for Butler too. He isn't quite the star player Harden is, but that might be a good thing. Plus Chicago's front office is more accepting. Will it take more than picks?

That package wouldn't land butler much less harden.

I'm not trying to debate you. But what package would work? Don't even use the Pelicans. Just any generic team. What kind of picks or players would entice the Rockets?

Boom, I agree with you here man. Almost no one on this board thinks we can get Harden for any shite package we could throw together.

I am keeping an eye on Morey this offseason though. I wonder if there will be a fracture there.

Top 3 pick + young players with more upside than Jrue

Good example would be:
D'angelo
Randle
Lakers top 3 pick
Lakers future first

Don't think anything like that would happen, but if they did want to trade Harden they could get a better package than what the Pelicans could offer.
