Its not a guarantee we'd even get 18/8 out of two draft picks either, but the 11mil could afford us a SF.

I think if we didn't get Jrue and we got Tyreke it would be the perfect scenario, but do we even get Tyreke without Jrue? Yes, I know, we offered more money than any other team, but do we even go for him and vise versa? I think he would have gone with Detroit, he'd be the man there. We'd probably end up with..Josh Smith.

MCW has potential, but I don't see him being anything better than a 40-42 fg% shooter. His rebounding and assists will be up there, I'm thinking 6 rebounds 8 assists, but his turnover rate is pretty ugly. We could definitely use CP3 back right about now

I think looking forward to 2015/6, if EG opts out, we have a legitimate shot at getting Jeff Green. Hell, you never know, we might be able to get him this year.

He doesn't even need to opt out. I don't know if MM covered this in his stretch Gordon article last year, but if Gordon can get his act together he should get enough money as a free agent to make a $10 million buy out worth his while. Stretch that $10 million and you have $11 million in cap space if you don't resign Rivers.

I keep seeing jeff green mentioned and I haven't really followed his situation much. why does everyone think we gonna get him? has there been interest put forth by both sides? I see green has a player option next year. is NOLA a desired destination for him or is all this just pure optimism?

He's got that special combination of age, baggage and high sticker price to be a perfect fit if we free up cap space. Honestly I think the Pelicans can be at the front of the line for SFs not getting near max deals. The hole at SF is similar to the hole Asik filled, you don't need an All Star, just a very specific 3 and D skill set and AD will make you look good. Playoff ready team looking for an under appreciated SF to take them to the next level.

Largely based on his skillset, and Boston having an even worse contract in Gerald Wallace that they could use to dump him.

A max for Smith would scare me. Monty offense settling for long 2s would scare me. Smith playing the 3 with a traditional center would scare me. But Smith would be a devastating fit with Anderson and/or Davis. Those small ball lineups would be fun to watch.

I almost would have rather seen them go after Smith than Evans that summer just for the sheer insanity

I understand the reasons for wanting jeff green. i'm just curious about the likelihood of getting him. a lot of posters throw out his name. I was just wondering if there was genuine interest from both parties and how realistic it was

I'm having this nightmare right now where Rivers takes off this year and we can't afford to sign him because EG doesn't opt out. If that happens, I will be sad.
