Should we? Saw that Magic Johnson is looking to acquire a second round for him.

I say get the Nick Young... 2nd rounder is not much to give to get a proven scorer. With more shooting room, due to B&B, I truly believe Young could shoot for a better 3pt% and provide scoring but maybe NBA better than a Hield, who assumed a similar role.

Jrue/Tim
Young/Moore
Hill/Casspri
AD/Jones
Cousins/DMo

Starting 5 looks legitimate and with 2 more upgrades, starter level 2/3 position and a bench shooter, this team becomes top 4 or 5 title contender...

We are not that far away, if you could just have Asik money to spend over the summer, you could go into next year with goals of a Championship in mind and the world wouldn't think your being a Homer. Boogie-Brow combo surpasses Paul-West combo, and it might not be close...

Grab Young for a 2nd, let's see how we mesh, but I have a good feeling that lineup would flourish together. Young is a solid player, who was goofy/immature when younger in Washington and then for the better part of his Lakers years tried to always feel like he needed to overcome his Pen*s, I mean, Kobe envy.

But I think a situation like New Orleans has, where Young could be thrust into a legit playoff contender and become a perfect complementary piece to what this team further needs.

How much would it take to buy out QPon? Dude was supposed to be back on the court in January. Of 2016. High character guy, but if we're making a push we need to do what gives us the best chance to secure the 8 spot.

I'm not opposed to it. I'm assuming we'll end up getting a 2nd round pick for Jones, and then we'll use that roster spot to trade for a guard, or sign Cook.

Nick Young would be a welcome addition. More attitude to go along with the quiet stars of Jrue and AD

Dell is willing to offer Ajinca and two seconds, but wants Swaggy to decline his PO. We will see if anyone budges. The Pels can send Jones out somewhere else and get cash/2nd, then flip that to LA. Sounds like the two biggest factors are Lakers willing to take on Ajinca or maybe Cunningham and Swaggy turning down his PO.

Gonna be an interesting day. Sounds like a 1-for-1 trade is unlikely. I expect the Pels to be involved in two or more small trades that link together or part of a 3/4 teamer

Yeah no way we would match that.

To be clear I'm not a Nick Young fan at all, but if he's not taking his PO I'm on board. Would be a good deal.

Oh, and Quinn Cook is still in play. There is a solid chance that two bigs might be going out today (like Ajinca, Jones) and one perimeter guy comes in via trade. In that event, Cook could be re-signed or they could leave the spot open once teams start waiving guys.

By the way, what's to stop a player from saying "I won't take my PO"...and then just taking it later?

He will be blackballed by the league and more importantly, so will his agent. His agent has hundreds of millions of dollars at stake. They aren't going to destroy their rep over Swaggy P's 5 million dollar option

That would be a good trade. What is Magic willing to flip him for though?

A line up of Jrue, Swaggy, AD and Boogie is a legit basketball team that has a lot of potential. Very exciting times indeed.

I don't know, I don't talk to Magic yet. Haha.

This is always the hard part of having a little bit of info. I know what we are trying to accomplish but have no idea what the other 29 have on the table

I knew we were never gonna draft a 19 year old and that picks would go out and established guys were gonna come in to lure Jrue back. But I had no idea the Kings would take our garbage for a stud

Seems like we would want Swaggy at $5M for next year, especially if Ajinca is out.

What am I missing here?

Especially given that we're probably best off operating over the cap and using the MLE.

I think we're trying to keep our options open in case there is some way to lure a 3rd star here. If that's the case we'd want as much flexibility to clear cap room.
