henson plays like a center and has an offensive game. he's better than noel as a center.

Yea im looking for a 4-5 pair that were both on the thinner side.

Everyone says it can't work but I think when you have both guys with such elite shot blocking ability it would cover up the weight deficiency.

People always say we need a banger next to AD but then they knock Noel cause he isn't strong offensively. It's just contradictory. Why does he need to be an offensive force? Can't he just rebound & defend? Clean up offensive glass? Keep possessions alive. Run the floor, catch oops. He doesn't need to be Shaq

If Noel falls to 6 (I doubt it), it makes sense to draft the guy. Imagine if he heals quickly and develops his game. It would be pretty intriguing. And I never thought much about the guy because I didn't watch much Kentucky basketball.

But didn't monty sit AD in 4th quarters because he was trying to "protect him"? I think that's why they say we need a banger.

Yeah. That means other targets are gone.

Im not a Noel or bust guy. I just dont think there is much difference between any of the guys that are routinely seen as possible picks. Happy with any of the 7 or so we talk.about most

This is about the 7th time I've agreed with LE.

I'd be happy if they try a Davis/Noel front court experiment.

ETA: my first time ever agreeing with LE

That was late in the season when we blew the 20+ point lead. I think that was the first time Monty acknowledged the rumblings that AD was not on the floor late in the game. He sat a bunch during 4th quarters early in the season.

Well we have Lopez on the cheap for two more seasons. It's not the end of the world if we replace Smiht with Noel for the next 4+ years at a cheaper price and let Noel take on a bigger role when he's ready. I know that's not exciting, but I don't think that any player we draft will start this season outside of injuries, with the exception of maybe Porter.

I think there's no way we pass on Nerlens if he's there @ 6.

Agreed, Lester. Having two skinny guys in the post isn't ideal. I think the risk of taking Noel is worth it at 6. If both of these guys come close to reaching their potential, then that is a GREAT front court. Noel reaching his potential, is a great shot blocker/rebounder, and should be able to finish around the rim ala Tyson Chandler.
