I know, that was my point. I wasn't saying we should bring back Louisiana guys (although personally I would love it), I was saying that Noel has almost no PR value whatsoever. I was saying that 2nd tier journey men from the area would give the team a bigger attendance boost than Noel..

Larry Sanders was a borderline all-star?

First I have heard of this

10/10 + 3 blocks in 27mpg, offensive numbers improving fairly significantly each year. Top 3 interior defender in the NBA (best statistically). If he improves this year as much as he did last year, he'll be a top 5 center and playing in Milwaukee will be the only thing preventing him from being an all star. Being realistic, Sanders is Noel's ceiling, and there's nothing wrong with that.

I think you're either underrating Noel's talent, overrating how good Sanders actually is, or maybe both

Just saying

For comparison, Emeka Okafor's BEST season as a Hornet was 10/10 and 2 blocks in 29 minutes a game

So Larry Sanders, atleast so far, is just a tiny bit better than Hornets era Okafor, statistically speaking

Sorry, not that blown away by that

i agree. Noel is a 1 year college player.

Sanders was a 3 year college player and last year was his 3rd year in the league. He's 24 years old.

In 5 years if you were to ask me how good Noel will be, Id say at the least he'd be a Larry Sanders type.

No, thats not an insult, i agree. But given where Noel is right now at 19, and where Sanders was at 18/19, I'd say Noel is destined to be a better player than Sanders is.

At worst his skills will translate to the NBA like Sanders has. Rim protector, rebounder extraordinaire.

And who, pray tell, said Noel's floor is a top 5 defensive center?

I think it's an exaggeration to say Sanders is his ceiling, but I think it's a worse exaggeration to say Sanders is his floor. I definitely think Sanders is the "type" of player you are going for in Noel.

I'm sticking to it

He walks out on the court the first time he's one of the best shotblockers in the league

He'll need to develop a little obviously ,gain some weight/muscle, but within a season or two I think he will be

I do not recall Duncan being this big, but this site has him at 249 in pre-draft measurements.

The picture I put of Duncan was from his Freshman year...at the same age as Noel. Which was the point.

Duncan played all 4 years of college and grew a lot over that time.

Just playing devil's advocate for those who don't see Davis and Noel as a good fit. What type of Center do you see as a good fit next to Davis?

I think he'd be an awesome center next to Davis personally, exactly what you want.

Henson/Sanders. No idea how that lineup did defensively, but I'd imagine pretty well.

On a smaller level. I think Henson played well down the stretch but I'm not sure
