I'm not too keen on the Pelicans beat writers and journalists but just saw this on Reddit so thought I'd post it here. Again, no idea how credible this McNamara guy is, but whatever.

I guess you're new here, so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. McNamara writes for a blog called Bourbon Street Shots that is very good and reliable. He posts here.

That being said, the Pels well undoubtedly make a call. Whether that call leads to anything is an entirely different story. Same with Butler talk. The Pels are going to try to get everyone but the reality of the situation is that they don't have the ammunition to do so.

Although he does have inside info at times, that is not inside info, that is common sense. The inside info is that they plan to try and operate using cap space if they can find someone to make it worth shedding contracts for because this is the cheapest the core pieces will ever be going forward. AD/DC/Holiday all are likely to take up way much more of the cap starting next year.

Gentry is still the head coach, doesn't matter.

They should also make him a mixed tape with this as track #1.

Chances clippers start rebuild after getting bounced by the jazz? No way they pay those ridiculous contracts for the same, if not worse team?

Dell can call all he wants. CP3 isn't coming back. He may move on from LA, but I just cant see a world where we can make it work in New Orleans.

That being said, i would blow the biggest load if it were to happen

I doubt he's coming to the pelicans, but I would love to see him leave the clippers and be able to win a championship. I would hate to see him be one of those great players who never won a ring.

SAS
MKE
NOP

All better options for him competing-wise than LAC.

MKE would make a ton of sense bc in the east he would at least have a chance to get to the conf finals if not the NBA finals.

Paul and Redick on MKE would have them clear 2nd best team in the East, mates blee dat

NO would be interesting playing with AD and BC would give him better pieces than his best NOH team mates blee dat. AND his old condo where lil Chrissypoo was born just happens to be on the market too blee dat

I think the Pelicans related effect from the Clippers losing again could be opening up a S&T opportunity for Holiday. The Spurs would probably need to do a S&T to go after CP3.

CP3 to Spurs
Holiday to Clippers
Patty Mills and Jonathan Simmons to the Pels

A multi player 3 way S&T has so many moving parts that it's pretty unrealstic, but CP3 wanting to go to the Spurs and Holiday wanting to go to the Clippers seems plausible. Patty Mills and Jonathan Simmons wanting to go to the Pels would probably be the tricky part, especially with Simmons being an RFA. You also have to factor in how much are you willing to overpay Mills/Simmons. Assuming Holiday and CP3 are both in the $30+ club, are you ok paying each at least $12-$14 per? I'm also not sure you could pay Simmons enough via S&T because I think the Spurs may only have Early Bird Rights.
