The league just inked a new TV deal that has them practically printing money. Your 1000 other reasons are completely irrelevant if they conflict with pleasing the league's new top partner, national TV.

Moving the SW to the East and the Central to the West only affects 3 markets: Indy (7th smallest), Cleveland (13th smallest), and Detroit (unsure on size, one of the poorest, doe). Every other team is already in the central time zone.

Per Woj, deal would involve Wright, Jae Crowder, and Dallas's 1st.

This can't be legit, right?

Unless Rondo just refused to give any assurances beyond this year. Then is might seem reasonable.

He also said Ainge realizes they aren't going to get the same return they would've gotten a couple of years ago.

That's a joke deal imo

That 1st will be in the mid 20s and wright/crowder aren't exactly amazing prospects.

I agree, Brandan Wright is a legit big man to bring off the bench, but Rondo is borderline all star.

It can if Houston isn't interested. It sounds like there are only 2 serious buyers, so if Houston is low balling then Cuban might be able to get a good deal. Thanks Morey.

Pels should seriously float a Ryno for Rondo trade to the media, even if they don't actually plan on making it.

Boston's informed teams it's focused on completing deal with Dallas soon, closing on a package to send Rajon Rondo to Mavs, sources tell Y.

Houston had dropped out of the talks in the past hour, clearing the way for Boston to complete deal with Dallas, sources told Yahoo.

Rajon Rondo and his reps made it clear to Dallas that the All-Star guard would be inclined to sign Mavs extension this summer, sources said.

We don't have any assets Morey would be willing to part with other then the Lin trade exception, which is what I'm sure he's trying to push. Cannan and Johnson wouldn't get it done. Nobody wants our old arse back up wings. D-Mo is indispensable with Jones out, and you got our other legit asset during the offseason. i guess Beverly would be tempting as part of a package, but they want Smart to play so that kind of defeats the purpose.

We just don't have enough.

All this under the assumption that Rondo will be a one year rental.

League sources indicate that if the Boston Celtics trade Rajon Rondo, he will then play for a different team.

Is it though? No matter what Rondo and his team say, he could still walk on July 1.

Also, they may regret giving up Wright. Not much quality depth behind Chandler and Nowitzki now.

The mavs traded their 2 best players off the bench for a ball dominant guard who can't shoot to play next to another ball dominant guard. This trade really isn't that "scary" and there is a good chance it doesn't work out.

Hey, if he walks, then I'm with you. It's not a great deal. But if this gets them a healthy Rondo for 4 years, it's a great deal.
