Mike Schmitz? @Mike_Schmitz

Really think Marquese Chriss may very well end up being a top 5 pick when it's all said and done. Too much to like - stroke, bounce, upside

Mike Schimitz is the video scout for draft express

Chriss was a freshman at Washington this season and is a 6'10 PF

Thoughts?

They do need help at the 4...

Still not convinced the Pels take Dunn.

From what I hear it's Dunn or Heild at 6 or trade back

Honestly Chriss makes a ton of sense for Minnesotta.

The only thing holding me back on saying it's the obvious selection is that he still seems like he needs some time to develop. But it fits a need and frankly, with some development, along with Wiggins, Kat and Lavine continuing to improve their jumpers as they have been doing, you can almost finalize their long term core right there....And it's a crazy potential fillled core at that.

Rubio can't shoot but everyone else can and so you give Thibs a Rajon Rondo and 4 shooters around him instead of 3. The defensive potential for that unit is crazy.

Watch his film. I wouldn't be shocked if he went 3

There are so many variables, including he teams at 3 and 5 wanting to trade that it is impossible to know how it will play out. But Chriss is the one guy that could join the discussion in the top 7. We won't take him IMO. Way too raw, and he doesn't have the passing skills Gentry wants. But it would be great if he went in front of us

The hope has got to be that two of the three-Bender, Brown, and Chriss- go in front of us. Would guarantee at least two of the guards are there and then they can pick the one they want, rather than just settle for the one who is left

I like Chris's a lot but him and AD skills overlap way too much. My personal list is

Dunn

Murray

Chriss

Heild

Why is that a problem?

The issues with Chriss and why this franchise would never take him is how raw he is, the fact that he hasn't shown any ability to see the floor and pass. Lastly, he won't be able to guard 5's, which is a must if you use a big resource on someone to pair with AD

Again, the hope should be that someone falls in love with him ahead of us

I see him more as a wing than someone that would have to guard centers. A Paul George type. He played one year in college and was young for a typical freshman. It's hard to just conclude he won't develop as a passer. The biggest knock against us drafting hi is his age I suspect. They aren't going to want to wait 3 years on a guy

To be clear, I am not bashing him. He is 7th on my board, has been for a while.

I am just stating why this franchise won't take him

If we somehow, someway wound up with a 2nd lottery pick, then I'd love to see us snag him up.

Otherwise, he's behind a few guys. And probably behind trade the pick for our front office.

Besides, hard to not think Thon Maker would make more sense in the 2nd round.
