Last Year:
PG: Tim Frazier
SG: E'Twaun Moore
SF: Solomon Hill
PF: Davis
C: Omer Asik

This Year:
PG: Rajon Rondo
SG: Jrue Holiday
SF: Solomon Hil
PF: Davis
C: Boogie Cousins

This team this year is much better. And I saw a projection that we would finish 10th in the West behind the likes of Denver, LAC, Port, and fricking UTAH! To me, assuming our health stays decent, this is easily a playoff team. Our bench this year compared to last year is a wash, but it's ridiculous to think this won't make the playoffs with a full healthy season.

who's going to hit the outside shots to open up the floor with that lineup? Plus where's the bench depth going to come from. Plus a lot depends on a very injury prone player in Jrue.

If they can stay healthy ( the past has proven that that is not even remotely possible with this team) then they have a good shot at making the playoffs.

I'm well aware and i agree with you. It's what keeps us from being a top 4 team in the west. But it's not like our outside shooting is atrocious (I know LOL). If Crawford, Moore, Jrue, and Hill can just be somewhat consistent, we could be alright.

But even with our below avg shooting, we have the starting lineup that should NOT miss the playoffs.

You can't call a player injury prone if he's only had one major injury that kept him out longer than it should have due to our shite medical staff. He was fine before and has been fine since.

we will see. hope you are right. He came in with shin splints and has had them trouble him since he has been here. Wasn't it just last season that he had to play limited minutes due to the shin splints?

I don't remember any minutes restrictions last year. That was mainly the year before. The biggest stretch of time missed was for Lauren's tumor.

The ignorance on this topic is astounding. That's not an attack on you, it's just really surprising how many people think exactly what you said when the facts are very different. The last time he missed a game because of his stress fracture was December 12th 2015, and all of the games he missed because of it in 2015-16 were precautionary sitting out on back to backs. There was no mention that season of pain or swelling. The last time he missed time because the injury seemed to be bothering him and there was swelling was the playoffs vs. Golden State in April of 2015, almost 2.5 years ago now.

He had a serious injury that should have taken 1 year to heal but it took 2 years because Holiday and the team blatantly ignored medical advice. The minutes restriction he did in 2015-16 was what he was supposed to do in 2014-15. Instead of restricting his minutes in 2014-15 he was averaging 34.5 MPG until they had to shut him down halfway through the season because for some crazy reason not going through the recovery process keeps you from recovering.

He's not injury prone, he and the team were just very stupid with managing his injury.

Well as far as what we knew about going into last year and going into this year, they arent far off. some of those last year guys surprisingly did produce somehow. And I think E'Twaun Moore can be a very good bench player with some confidence.

Moore and Clark should be much better than rookie Buddy and Galloway starting the season in a terrible slump. If they aren't better than what we got out of those 2 to start the season...

The front court should be a little better because Cousins should be taking about 10 of what would have been backup minutes last year. I would also be surprised if Dante isn't back and for people that still don't think they're overrating Terrence Jones, why is he in China right now?

How do we have any cap space for Dante? Last I remember, we would need to make a move to make the salary work.

The reason they haven't made a move isn't because the have no moves to make, it's because their best moves involve either being part of a Melo/Kyrie trade, or Asik blinking at the last minute on a buyout and stretch. The deadline for Asik is August 31st and there is no artificial deadline to push a Melo trade so we could be waiting a while.

They'll make some sort of move to clear space, and re-sign Dante.

I see a lot of people asking where the outside shooting is going to come from to open things up, but the thing I don't see referred to all that often is that no other team in the NBA has two bigs like we do that can play anywhere on the court. That has to play into the spacing issue atleast somewhat.

Also what MM told there is a possibility that Ajinca will agree on a discount buyout and Pels will stretch his remaining salary.

F.e. 7,5 millions for 5 years (1,5 m /year). He might be giving up 2.5 millions but even for a minimum contract in two years he can earn 3.5 millions in total...

definitely an upgrade.

interesting (to me) hypo- how would the small ball Xmas-all-star break roster stack up after a summer of moves and seasoning?

lineup w/ most MP (w/ +12.7 Net Rating) during that small stretch:

Holiday
Hield
Hill
Cunningham
Davis

not more talented than the 5 now (and Davis would not be happy being a 5 more often), but maybe fit together a little better.

Guess it'll come down to Jrue or Ian Clark.
