He is going into a no-win situation at Sac Town. He will always be the guy that "they traded Boogie for" and then on top of that, their dumbass owner sets Steph Curry as his standard.

That's too fricking much for a rookie.

I do too. He's such a nice guy. Sucks to put him in that.

Money has nothing to do with it.

Especially for a shooter that relies just as much on confidence as he does on athleticism. The poor man was just getting his mojo going and then this happens to him. I really wish for the best for him.

I feel bad for him because he is going to the Kings.

Hoopshype had a tweet that sums up the difference between the Pels and Kings... the Pels sent "Benson's" private plane out to pick up Omri and Boogie with Dell and Gentry aboard. Buddy et all are flying out to Sacramento in coach.

If nothing else it shows we are trying to show Boogie how happy we are to have him and Omri in NOLA.

So are the Bahamas going to remain a sponsor?

Maybe Sac will take Asik for Buddy. I hear they have a dearth at C since trading a top 10 NBA player.

Is making a few million worth going to a new place where everyone hates you and set virtually impossible standards for you to be deemed "good"?

More to life than money in the bank. I think NOLA fans really embraced him, Sac fans will probably look at him with contempt. Not saying they would hate buddy as a person, be he is the physical embodiment of the best player in their franchise's history being shipped out for peanuts.

Imagine a rookie player going to any team, and the boss is spouting off to the media about how you are a future multiple MVP. I mean that is fricked when you think about it.

Yeah man it's crazy. I liked watching him go off in the big 12 not against us. And I truly hope he turns into something nasty and makes a career happen out there.

I agreed that it's a shitty situation, you must have missed that part. Making millions takes the edge off some, though. I can't imagine anyone besides the owner truly believes he's the next steph curry. That's just his own delusional fantasy.

I think you're overreacting. It's not Buddy's fault they got shite return. If their owner is that high on him, he's going to play and play now, likely with an expanded role. He's closer to his mentor in Kobe. There's a lot for him to like about his new situation, including likely getting to play his brand of hero ball on a shite team.

If he shows up and becomes something serviceable than he's already exceeding the incredibly low expectations of the fanbase and media. "Hey, at least Hield is better than he showed in NOLA."

Well yea, but I feel like people in sac are gonna be way down on buddy even if he plays well.

He will have to exceed every reasonable expectation of him by miles to be worth Cousins, and I feel like the fanbase will hold it against him. If he was a vet, whatever, he knows the game and could probably handle it. But he's just a rookie who woke up on Sunday with the belief that NOLA was his home for the foreseeable future, but went to bed knowing that his entire world just changed dramatically.

I mean, I hope I'm wrong. I'm rooting for Buddy. I think he is a good person.

I know it's not Buddy's fault he was so coveted by Vivek, but you know that won't stop a significant portion of that fanbase to hate him for not being worth Boogie. That's how fans are. We hated Gordon for 4 years because he made one comment about wanting to go to a franchise that actually wanted him. I don't think that is that crazy of a comment when you consider NOLA fans were pretty bitter that out franchise player demanded we trade him and Gordon is what we got back.

Hield and Gordon aren't even in a close to similar boat until Hield starts slacking off and talking about wanting to play for a different team. Gordon was a whiny douche for years and publicly tried to get us not to match his offer sheet.
