Looking around the internet, the packages that fans and press are throwing out are extremely high.

if they are indeed shopping him, you'd have to think, a healthy EG and Ryno combo would have been a dream GET for Love.... but Reke's contract might actually look like a bargain for them too...
Starting to think an old max deal is going to look GREAT heading into this new cap, after reading this on Harrison Barnes. "Barnes is due to hit the market as a restricted free agent this summer after turning down the Warriors' four-years, $64 million extension offer this past summer."
Barnes turning down $16mm per year for free agency... he'll be looking for what is currently Wesley Matthews, Kawhi Leonard, Paul George money? and Ryno could draw even more.... Why take Love over Ryno? starting next year, Kevin Love would be the CHEAPER option... Max projections.

i mean, you're talking about a former 26/13 player and a guy that has led the NBA in rebounds. This isnt exactly Ryan Anderson
You're also talking about adding a former 26/13 player who before this year played absolutely crap defense. One year isn't the norm, it is called an outlier. Look at Harden last year, dude played GREAT defense and this year? back to his pre-2014 defense.
And look at what we would have to give up to get him? It becomes such a void and still ignoring the most important position of getting a SF.

Sounds like you are asking me to fire up the trade machine again! If you insist.....

I actually think Ryno and EG would help the Cavs a lot down the stretch. I mean we can't get Love for them but they would help CLE a lot.

they've wanted love for a while

I know the stats say Love is a better D player than last year, but he still gets abused on that side of the ball when it counts. In a tight game against the Spurs a few weeks ago, the Spurs went directly at him for their last 6-7 baskets.

what about a three way with Boston?
Brad Stevens is not splitting up Bradley/Thomas/Smart... that rotation is what has them in the place they are now, and they are cheap as F@#K
They'd need to send us either Brooklyn's first.. or both late 1sts, for us to help.
We'd take some expirings with it to shift the money.

If he takes Ryno+Asik's minutes we'll be even worse on defense than we already are.
In short, no thanks.
exactly.... he doesn't add that much offensively to compensate for his utter lack of any attempt on the defensive side of the ball.....
that's the main reason he's Lebron's doghouse all the time....

It was laughable when Ryan tried to guard Monroe. He had no chance of stopping him.

Love wants to be in a big market, specifically LA. I don't want any players who have their hearts set elsewhere.

It's pretty laughable when Monroe tries to guard anyone as well. Dude single handedly has turned last year's number 2 defense into the 24th ranked defense.

Is Love better than Ryno? Yes.
Is love so much better that we should pretty much throw in everything that's not bolted down (Davis, Jrue?) to get him? frick no.
Also not a fan of these trades where we get the 4th and 5th/6th best player in a 6 player trade.

Would be awesome to get a mid first or 2 late firsts, plus expirings. That way we can build through the draft and still have cap space available for free agents this summer. Also,if we had 3 1st rd draft picks- we may be able to package 2 of them or maybe one of those future high 2nd's from the Ish trade to move up in the draft to pick a player we like.

Holiday is such an enigma in any trade talks. He's The "Eric Gordon" we thought we got and signed. As he's bounced back from injury, he looks more and more like an amazing 3rd banana. Public perception also matters in these deals. Holiday may be exactly what Cleveland needs. A perimeter defender that can play off ball and run the team with LBJ out or in spurts. But they'd get killed for a Love for Holiday swap.

I'm not that enamored with Kevin Love, tbh.

eh
late 1st rounders aren't worth a whole lot

At his $ over the next few years, it's definitely worth a look. He's a souped up Anderson who will be paid about the same (perhaps less if you think Anderson fetches max $ this summer) over the next 4 years.
If you want Davis as a 5, Love is a great fit. Dude can shoot, pass, and rebound. Defense is a problem, but he tries more than people give him credit for. Like Anderson he doesn't have the physical or mental gifts for that side of the ball. Unlike Anderson, he is an elite rebounder and a smart, good passer. He can be an elite offensive player if given opportunity.
Question is- are they building Davis into that type of playmaker/facilitator? If so, will Love (and his $$) just be a spot up guy like Anderson here? They'd be better off spending for a nimble, athletic, rim diving 5 and more wing options than using Love (and his $$) like that.

Maybe in general, but I'd love to have 3 1sts this year. Use our top 10 pick on a starting guard, use a pick in the teens on a big to eventually take Asik's place when you need to reclaim his cap space, and use a pick in the 20's on a wing prospect. Hitting on 2 of those 3 would go a long way to getting things back on track, especially if you were able to get the 1sts for just Anderson, Gordon and a minimum journeyman you claimed off waivers.
