I can get down with a lottery protection

Which says we aren't offering and they obviously aren't getting it from anyone else or this wouldn't have leaked. They don't have as much pressure to trade him as they do Noel, but with the way bigs have been devalued, I don't know if they'll ever get what they were expecting for someone who's future in the league is probably doing what Monroe and Kanter are doing. There's nothing wrong with 6th men, you just don't take them in the top 5.

Sixers could be getting back unhappy center Alexis Ajinca and a future 1st round pick in a Jahlil Okafor trade to New Orleans, a source said

If the 1st round pick isn't heavily protected, I'll be pissed.

If its actually a future first and not our 2017 first, I'd LOVE this deal

Only way i'd love it more is if it was Asik going out instead of Ajinca

right

The philadelphia inquirer had a piece over the weekend about their declining value. They speculated the Bulls had interest, but the writer noted that the best they could probably do would be a young guy and mid to late 1st.

I'll wait and see what the cost is before I react.

How has JO played this year?

If the pick isn't lottery protected, I'll be furious.

Getting Okafor also frees you up to trade Jones if you are hell bent on winning now. I'm not sure if you can get an expiring back, but Galloway/Jones should be able to bring you back a late 1st. Draft well with that then you can play that "Anunoby/Blossomgame is like our 2018 pick"

Jahlil Okafor though still just 21, has the worst Real Plus-Minus in the NBA among 70 qualifying centers (-4.09).

He's been in and out of the lineup all year, though. No real consistency

He's been in and out because he has been hot garbage.

And just on the court, you'd finally put a legit scoring option on the court with Davis.

Outside of Cousins, there might not be a better post player in the league than Okafor.

Right now, Davis has the burden of EVERY possession beginning and ending with trying to get him the ball

Why would Philly do this trade? Noel for Alexis would be a rip off. Okafor is even worse.
