He's literally ONLY in the league for this:

Marc Gasol led the Grizzlies with 16 points. He scored 2 when Omer Asik was on the floor.

I'm sorry, I just expected some offense

I apologize for the bad melt thread. I got ahead of myself on this one.

When we aren't shooting sub 40% as a team and Ryan Anderson isn't shooting 0-for-a thousand, Asik's lack of offense won't bother you as much. But yeah, when NOBODY can hit a shot, Asik's misses and bobbles piss you off. Especially in close games.

Somebody needs to get Asik some strength shoes. His vertical is a joke.

Anderson bricking everything, Gordon committing stupid arse fouls, Asik looking like a big dumb idiot under the basket, Davis not getting the ball. It was too much for me tonight.

I'm guessing wide receiver gloves aren't allowed in the NBA either

And thats why players like Ben Wallace played for years.

They were their team's 5th offensive option when they're on the floor and they excel at their job, defend and boards.

The issue should be pointing at the lack of SF on this team and just bad overall team shooting.

Then the issue is with you. As far as living up the hype, he's been exactly as advertised.

Setting good screens, playing smart team defense, rebounding, and forcing misses at the basket.

That's all we need. AD and Ryno (once he rediscovers his shot) has the offense covered.

This is a problem and has been a trend so far.

But last night was more about how good Memphis is on defense. They've been one of the league's best defensive teams for years with this core.

I've got my concerns with the offense, but Memphis shuts teams down on a regular basis. Even with a more coherent offense, I wouldn't expect the Pelicans to light up Memphis.

Problem is we weren't forced into bad shots all night. We had ALOT of good looks at the basket. Still early but we gotta be able to knock down open shots more consistently.

If people are worried about guys missing open shots, then there's nothing to see here. Anderson didn't forget how to shoot. Neither did Gordon or Babbitt.

They got some good looks. The Grizzlies also contested just about everything.

For me, the main problems are they don't know how to consistently find good shots and they can't finish at the rim. Playing against a great defense just exacerbates those issues

I like big Turks and I cannot lie.
Rebounds you can't deny.
When a Turk shoots free throws at the little bitty hoop space
Or shoots a ball with defenders in his face it goes 'clung'!
