Raises aren't compounded. The raises are 7.5% of the year 1 salary.

It is not actually 25 or 30 percent of the cap number. It is based off of percentage of BRI. It is all in that article, but I understand the TL;DR thing - I mean it is like 2500 words.

Long story short - yes, we are the only team that can give him a rose rule contract and the only team that can give him 7.5% raises. It will come out to about 143 million with the new projected cap. For him to go elsewhere, he would get 9.1 next year and about 107 over 4 years from a new team.

Again, he'd have to wait two years just for the chance to earn about 30 mil less.

I knew it was based upon BRI, but do we have enough info about the new projected cap to estimate the new BRI?

I guess I could probably answer this if I read the article.

No hard feelings. When I put out articles this length, I am just satisfied with a skimming

I actually read it a while back, but today was the first time that I did the 30% x 89 mil (projected cap) x 7.5% x 5 years calculation and I was surprised when it was much more than the 140ish number that I was typically seeing. I figured it had to do with the BRI calculation, but I didn't think the number would end up being off by 15 mil.

He would truly have to hate being on this team not to sign.

Davis is signing. There's no question.

Crewz, I know you weren't wild about signing onto this board awhile back. How do you feel about it now?

I mean, I think its much better/ less juvenile. It's why I like posting here.

Am I crazy? Compare this board to say 2 years ago. Isn't it 1000x better or is it just me?

In the article, I did it with a projected 85 mil cap and it came out to 139. If its 88 or 89, it projects to about 143-145

It is, but it also goes through some cycles. Wait until the Pels make some kind of move, retards will come out the woodwork.

This board does tend to get less of the Rant spillover though.

I enjoy this board, but you do have to ignore occasional tomfoolery. First time I've used that word . . . ever.

I do miss some of the "fun" we had back in circa 2012.

Someone should find the melt that Jester guy had when the CP3 to Lakers trade was announced.
