Hypothetical: Pels land a top 3 pick in the lottery. Who do we draft?

Taking the convo away from our usual gloom and doom - "Fire Demps" "Fire Gentry" "We have no guards" "Gordon Hayward likes gumbo - 2017 Pels Lock" - and say we miss the playoffs and land a top 3 pick (optimism)
Right now the top prospects (arguably) in no particular order:
Lorenzo Ball
Markelle Fultz
Josh Jackson
Malik Monk
Jonathon Issac
My opinion for this off-season is guards, guards, and more guards. Ideally those guards move well without the ball, space, facilitate, shoot well, and play some defense (not too much to ask for right?). If we have a draft pick it should be no different. And for me, it comes down to Ball vs Fultz. If we land the third pick, and both Ball and Fultz are off the board then I'm not sure what we do because I haven't spend enough time watching these other players in the draft. So Ill stick with these 2.
If we keep Jrue, I think Lorenzo Ball is the first choice for this particular team. No disrespect to Fultz but I see Ball and Jrue complimenting one another very well. Fultz doesn't have the talent around him that Ball has so I'm sure that skews the stats and my pedestrian "eye-ball" test, BUT Ball shoots with much efficiency, looks for open guys before shooting, and seems like he can command an offense. He also paces the floor a little more slowly than Fultz which is the direction the Pels offense should be trending.
Fultz on the other hand is reminds me of Damian Lillard. So he can absolutely ball at the NBA level but he would play best with guards that space the floor. Add that to the fact that our offense needs to go through AD and Boogie, and I'm not sure Fultz has a "pass first" mentality (again maybe it's bc he's in Washington) or moves as well without the ball. I think he needs the ball in his hand and he would only work if we got rid of Jrue.
I have a feeling this will become a "resign Jrue/don't resign Jrue" thread but that's ok. So anyway y'all have heard my 2 cents. What do y'all think about the best fit in the draft for the current Pelicans?

Ball or Fultz if either is available. Then let Holiday walk.

why wouldnt you want Ball and Jrue in the backcourt together?
I really struggle with this boards readiness to give up Jrue so easily

In the event we keep our pick, Demps will most likely trade it. Whether you think that's the right/wrong move is up for debate, but his history with draft picks suggest that it will be traded.

Land top 3 pick.
Re-Sign Jrue Holiday
On draft night, draft whoever Utah or Chicago wants
Trade that player and unprotected 2020(?) pick for Hayward or Butler
consider it the big 3.5

wouldnt that fall under the rule that you cannot trade back to back draft picks?
if we draft this year doesn't SAC get our first next year? or is it a 2nd rounder?

my mistake, yes it becomes unprotected 2018. totally slipped my mind

I don't think Holiday is some sort of championship piece. If I can avoid having to pay him the max, I'm doing that.

You can trade the pick on draft day.

That would be a dream scenario. Hayward will probably opt out after this season, correct?
Also, considering Boston will likely have a top 3 pick, too, they can probably put forth a better package than we could for Butler. They could throw in Crowder or Brown (probably Crowder).

I was joking when I posted that.
Boston has an equivalent level pick, next year's pick as well, and ontop of that 4 players that any team would covet.
Bradley
Smart
Crowder
Brown

ok so obviously if we do get a top 3 pick it opens up our options. and we can go down that rabbit hole (top 3 pick + sign and trade Jrue for PG/Hayward/whomever big named player) but where would that leave us in terms of our guards?
again I understand not wanting to sign Jrue to a max contract but to compete in this league we need guards. and of our options at the moment Jrue is one of the best/most attainable guards for us (better than KCP, Korver, JJ Redick, and I'd even say Jeff Teague)
thats why at least in the scenario I originally posted about taking Ball, and re-signing Jrue.
Now going a little further than my original post, I would say we would have limited cap left after resigning Jrue so we could only go after a mid-level guard (Dion Waiters, Tim Hardaway, or Shabazz) and/or resign Casspi. It seems more realistic than getting 3 superstars and having to place Tim Frazier and Cunningham into the starting roles

Yeah but a top 3 pick is pretty valuable. You could probably trade it for a few B level guys. A 3 team trade that nets you Batum and a starting guard maybe?

if we went in that direction (big if) and we wanted a "big 3" without Jrue then I think we could put together an offer with that top 3 pick that could at least rival Boston for either Bulter or PG or like TigerinATL said a couple of "B" level players

Without question we would trade it. For a B+ level player.
And we would then sign a PG to pair with Jrue going offball.
In my delusional fantasies we trade the #1 pick, 2020 pick, Etwaun Moore and Asik for Jimmy butler and then we sign Patty Mills. Mills/Holiday/Butler/AD/Boog
And then I wake up.

or send it to Denver
top 3 pick + Omer Asik for Chandler and Barton
Lineup:
PG - Holiday/Frazier
SG - Barton/Moore
SF - Chandler/Hill/Cunningham
PF - Davis/Cunningham
C - Cousins/Diallo/Ajinca

You keep the pick. And if you get one of the two guards, just move jrue to sg if we do re-sign him.
