How do you expect uncle Al to manage the guards as everyone gets acclimated? I wonder if he'll stick with Jrue/EG/Gee/AD/Asik or go with the 3 main guards from the get go?

I definitely expect growing pains though.

Dunno, but Ish/Gordon will be the most successful pairing. That Ish "drive to the basket, come out the other side, and kick it out to Gordon for a wide open 3" is a thing of beauty.

If Gordon makes it, which he's had troubles with this year

Didn't he struggle mightily at the beginning of last year too?

not being a smartass, I'm genuinely asking

Yes. Last November he shot 33% from 3. In January after returning from injury he shot 45%. Someone needs to punch him in the labrum.

I think he'll bring Reke off the bench for 3-4 games.

After that it'll be

Reke at the 1
EG and Jrue as shooters
AD
Asik

Cole/Ish/DC/Ryno cycle in.

Also the worst defensive combo of the bunch.

Gentry said Tyreke might start, I have no idea what that means for 2 of Ish/Jrue/Gordon/Gee, but Tyreke starting will push 2 of those guys to the bench.

After listening to Gentry's after practice media session (from yesterday) it sounds like Tyreke is definitely starting. He compared Tyreke to Grant Hill, which makes me think that he might start Tyreke at the 3 and go with Jrue, Gordon, Tyreke. I may be reading into the Grant Hill comparison too much, but if Tyreke is playing, he's going to be starting and playing with AD a bunch (from what Gentry said).

What exactly about this group inspires confidence?

Each of these guys needs very specific help on the court to be effective. If they roll out an all bench unit, Gentry is no better than Monty in the one area nearly everyone agreed was a major Monty problem

I seriously doubt he is talking about rolling out a bench mob.

It's a better bench than TD/Ish/Babbit/Jimmer...

Yes he needs to mix and match

That bench unit as a whole is putrid
