The problem that you haven't addressed is that in order for us to be bad enough for a top-5 pick, we'll have to trade away players for practically nothing in return.

this draft, there are 5-7 all star players there.

No there aren't.

Trying to tank would be the right move if our goal is to give the 6ers 2 top 10 picks.

oh? really? They were heading into a loaded draft on a team that might not make the playoffs?

or were they a .500 team on a conference that was wide open? whose best player was coming back soon?

this analogy doesn't fricking compute.
Of course it doesn't compute to you because it doesn't fit into the "be a championship contender or tank," bullshite philosophy you're trying to preach thats been a proven model for failure.

LIes and bullshite. I was on this board then.

quote:

This team has far more talent than any Chris Paul team ever had in New Orleans. Paul's greatness carried that team above and beyond its talent level.

really? this team has more talent than David West (all star) Chandler (defensive POY) and the best PG in the league?

quote:

This team has more talent and will be carried by a dominant by man, not a a PG, which in itself raises the chances of truly contending.

because the teams with dominant big men without an all star wing have won so many titles the last ten years.

in most years, for most franchises it would be. but in this year it isn't.

as opposed to a top 10 pick and a top 16 pick?

Karma, can't miss prospects become busts all the time. For the love of everything holy, Oden went above Durant. He was a sure thing, much like Wiggins, Jabari etc. One of these can't miss guys is gonna be a bust, too. You know who isn't a bust? Holiday.

or have horrendous luck like say your PF missing the first three weeks of the season with a stupid injury.

and then your franchise missing same amount of time for same.

With regards to the 2014 draft, yes, we are fricked.

Teams like Philly, Utah, Pheonix, and Sacramento have been preparing for this tank since end of last season.

Now, if you want to make this same argument for the Knicks, i think you are 100% on point.

Anderson missed all of that time and we're hovering around .500

Davis will miss probably a month. Once he comes back, we're not going to lose 8/10 games which is what you need for a proper tank job.

for the love of everything holy, Oden was a GREAT pick. you can't foresee injuries. Oden before he succumbed to injuries was putting up a top 10 PER in the league.

Show me a pick that was supposed to be can't-miss that busted for non-injury.

This roster wouldn't lose that with Davis out for the rest of the year. There is no way for the team to tank without moving multiple players.
