MCW might have the worst shot in basketball. Dude is a very good rebounder and passer, but man does his rotation on the ball stink.

He's in the right situation to correct that. Look at Jason Kidd, his nickname used to be Ason Kidd because he had no J , but he finished his career with the 5th most three pointers made in a career.

Are these people that you trust to bring the ball up and effectively set up offense? Evans can create off the bounce, but the guy will also shut an offense down with isolation.

Sure. What does set up offense mean? Everyone runs some variation of PnR. Is it getting a big to screen or using that screen effectively? Making smart decisions out from that screen?

true point

I don't know what that means. Westbrook isn't a true point. I'd let him run my offense any time he wants. Chris Paul doesn't really set up offense; he's just unbelievable at working a PnR. There aren't many "pure" types on that list at all.

The good thing is that Jrue is the player we need

Yeah, I think most of the defensive reactions these types of threads usually get is because it feels like people are saying Jrue is bad, but there's nothing wrong with being average at a position with so much talent that average = pretty good.

Listening to Sirius/XM NBA this morning and they were talking about Kevin Love and how his role has changed in Cleveland since he's no longer the focal point of Adelman's Corner offense. I do some digging into the Corner offense and think, we should be running that.

quote:

The system is ideal for teams with good jump-shooting guards and big men with passing skills. The basic premise is for the point guard to get the ball to a big man at the free-throw line elbow and then curl to the nearest corner. The second guard then sets a down screen for the point guard. The two guards then cut, or split, away from each other and the big man looks for the one who is open. If neither one is, the ball swings to the other side of the floor, most often for a pick-and-roll action.

Then I look at a highlight video LINK and we are running that. Jrue fits pretty well in an offense built around AD.

Dude is a combo guard just like Bledsoe. Like I said, not a true PG. This list is crap.

Nearly every one of those PGs could be dubbed "combo guard"

Sort of. Its a highlight video, so grain of salt.

But the Pels don't pass the ball or cut like that. They are among the bottom of the league in half court passes, which doesn't mean much in terms of efficiency. The main benefit to that choice is they rarely turn the ball over. They score effectively, perhaps not mellifluously.
